Week of May 27, 2018: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our “Northeast Sunday Shout Out” for our week following the Memorial Day Holiday. This is the week we see our end of year activities begin with field trips, our 8th grade Track Meet and our Spring Band, Orchestra and Northeast Singers trip to Music in the Parks. It all begins on Wednesday when our 6th grade Team Voice heads out to the Lehigh Gap for a day of learning about the environment. On Thursday our 6th grade Team Active takes a kayak trip down the Lehigh. Also on Thursday our 8th graders challenge our other 3 Bethlehem middle schools in our 8th grade track meet. This event will be held at Banko stadium at Liberty High School. Friday we see our Band, Orchestra and Northeast Singers head out to Hershey overnight for their Music in the Parks competition. We know we will be well represented by our talented musicians, and we look forward to their return home late Saturday evening. Also on Friday 6th grade Team Voice will spend their final outing over at Freemansburg’s park. Lastly on Friday Liberty will host free sports physicals in the evening beginning at 5 p.m. for all students interested in playing sports in the fall.
To end our second to last “Sunday Shout Out” for this school year I prepare everyone for the closing by reminding our 8th grade parents of our “Moving Up Ceremony” next Monday, June 4th. Our ceremony begins promptly at 7 p.m. We will remind you again about our ceremony again next Sunday. Finally we hope everyone has a very pleasant Memorial Day, and we look forward to having our students back to school on Tuesday.
