Michael is a fifth grade teacher at Central Elementary School in the Allentown School District. He received his Masters in Elementary Education from Lehigh University. Prior to becoming a teacher Michael worked for 19 years in the insurance industry and received his B.S. in Insurance at Penn State University. In addition to his career, Michael is an elected member of the BASD Board of Directors serving in his second term. Additionally, he has served as President of the Board for the past 8 years. Michael serves on several other boards including the Boy Scouts of America Executive Board – Minsi Trails Council, Bethlehem Area Vocation Technical School Joint Board and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA). He served as the President of PSBA from 2018-2019. In 2019 Michael was inducted into the prestigious Allwein Society. The Allwein Society is a recognition program honoring school directors who are outstanding leaders and advocates on behalf of public schools and students. Additionally, he is one of only 33 board members across Pennsylvania to be recognized as a Master School Board Member. Michael serves on The Foundation board as a liaison/trustee and because of his passion for Public Education.
