Engineering Art – The purpose of the Engineering Art project is to connect engineering to art by using a 3D modeling program, XYZ Maker. This software program allows the user to choose various 3D solids to make creative objects that can be 3D printed. An introduction to Engineering class and a 3D Design art class will join forces to learn, create and print a 3D design to enhance a two-dimensional picture.

It Isn’t Rocket Science! Camp – It Isn’t Rocket Science! Camp is a 5 day morning camp designed to engage 7th and 8th graders in STEM concepts. Liberty high school students will research, design and create lessons on rocketry throughout the school year and then implement the lessons in a middle school camp during June/July. The major learning goal is teach rocketry which is an extension of physics that is not taught to the high school or middle school students. Parents of camp participants will be invited to a model rocket demonstration on the last day.

Calculus – When, Where, and How? – This project will connect real world experiences to calculus through various explorations of known phenomena such as water flow and motion. These explorations are meant to engage the student in scientific observing, critical thinking, and technical writing. Each of these objectives will be assessed through a journal in which students will share their observations and thinking in written form.
