Having strictly played singles throughout the fall, Tashanna Smith and Natalie Sinai weren’t exactly familiar with one another when the district doubles tournament came around.
Smith-Sinai competed in one match together prior to the tournament, but the duo appeared as if they had been teaming up all along.
The Patriot pair bolted past their District 11 Class 3A opponents, dropping just two games in five matches to claim gold. Then, the team capped off a stellar season with a third-place finish in the PIAA Class 3A doubles tournament in Hershey.
