Brenna Ortwein and the Freedom High School girls basketball team had been in tough PIAA Class 6A playoff games before.

In fact, the Patriots made it to the second round the last two seasons, but fell short of the quarterfinals.

The third time, however, that playoff experience paid off.

District 11 runner-up Freedom defeated District 1 champion Central Bucks West 60-47 on Tuesday night in the 6A second round at Pottsgrove High School. The Patriots will face District 3 runner-up Central York on Friday at a site and time to be determined.
