Hello Buchanan Community!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am Amanda Hinkel, and I wanted to quickly introduce myself and express my excitement <\/span>to <\/span>be <\/span>a part of the James Buchanan <\/span>family<\/span>. While <\/span>I <\/span>am <\/span>new <\/span>to the elementary principal position, I have spent a great deal of time supporting students, teachers<\/span>, <\/span>and <\/span>families as an <\/span>Assistant <\/span>Principal <\/span>at <\/span>Liberty High <\/span>School<\/span>. <\/span>Previously, I taught English for 10 years at Liberty High School<\/span>. <\/span>I proudly grew up playing softball and riding my bike in the James Buchanan neighborhood<\/span>; <\/span>being able to serve the community that raised me is incredibly special!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My greatest achievement comes not professionally<\/span>, <\/span>but personally, as <\/span>I <\/span>am a proud mother of two boys, Teagan <\/span>and <\/span>Logan. <\/span>Please <\/span>know <\/span>that <\/span>I <\/span>will <\/span>treat <\/span>Buchanan’<\/span>s <\/span>students as if they were my <\/span>own<\/span>. I will work <\/span>tirelessly <\/span>to ensure <\/span>your <\/span>child(ren) have the best possible <\/span>experiences <\/span>at James <\/span>Buchanan<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am grateful to have the opportunity to be your principal and honored to work with the highly qualified and dedicated staff<\/span>, <\/span>amazing students<\/span>, <\/span>and all of the supporting parents. The elementary years are critical times of development for students and families as it lays the foundation for lifelong skills<\/span>. <\/span>I believe in educating the whole child and ensuring your <\/span>child <\/span>is <\/span>safe, healthy, engaged, and supported<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I look forward to meeting you and your child<\/span>(<\/span>ren) as well as supporting the amazing work that has been occurring at James Buchanan for many years!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Soy Amanda Hinkel y quer\u00eda presentarme brevemente y expresar mi entusiasmo por formar parte de la familia de James Buchanan. Si bien soy nueva en el puesto de directora de primaria, he dedicado mucho tiempo a apoyar a estudiantes, maestros y familias como subdirectora en la escuela secundaria Liberty High School. Anteriormente, ense\u00f1\u00e9 ingl\u00e9s durante 10 a\u00f1os en la misma escuela. Crec\u00ed jugando s\u00f3ftbol y andando en bicicleta en el barrio de James Buchanan, \u00a1y poder servir a la comunidad que me vio crecer es algo incre\u00edblemente especial!<\/span><\/p>\n

Mi mayor logro no es profesional, sino personal, ya que soy una orgullosa madre de dos hijos, Teagan y Logan. Quiero que sepan que tratar\u00e9 a los estudiantes de Buchanan como si fueran mis propios hijos. Trabajar\u00e9 incansablemente para garantizar que sus hijos tengan las mejores experiencias posibles en James Buchanan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Estoy agradecida por tener la oportunidad de ser su directora y me siento honrada de trabajar con un\u00a0 personal altamente calificado y dedicado, con estudiantes extraordinarios y con todos los padres que nos brindan su apoyo.
