Dear Parents & Guardians,

Attached is our Weekly Sunday Update, which can be found at the link or text below.

Thank you.

Dr. Mayes & Mr. Horlick

2021_1_3_Parent Weekly Email

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Happy New Year! It is my hope that 2021 brings us back together as a school community and allows us to reflect & rebuild on the things that make Nitschmann Middle School great and fix the things we’ve learned during this challenging year that we can do better. As my resolution, I am working to balance keeping my focus on the day-to-day, but also plan for the long-term as we move forward this year! After this second week of short-term remote learning, I will be sending out a survey for parents & guardians to provide us feedback on our progress and what we can do to improve for the 2nd semester. I do not have any information yet on if this will be extended or return to hybrid yet, but we can expect that announcement from Dr. Roy this week.

Please make sure to help your child get back into the swing of things with classes this week and complete assignments. 2nd Quarter report cards will be prepared at the end of January. We want to make sure all students are on track for the end of the school year. If your child is struggling, reach out to your child’s team leader (emails are below). If our school counselors, Mr. Horlick, or myself can help, reach out to us too!

Sincerely,

Dr. Mayes, Principal

Core & Encore Team Updates

Team Lafayette (6th) (Twitter @NMSLafayette Team Leader Mrs. Hackman) Happy New Year to all of you!  2020 is over, and we are all ready for a happy and healthy 2021 to begin!  We are all looking forward to getting back to our school routines, and be sure to take this time to review all of your work.  Continue to reach out to us if there are any needs you may have.  Office hours continue this week, and our zoom classes begin Tuesday.  See you then!

Team Lehigh (6th) (Twitter @NMSTeamLehigh/ Facebook @NitschmannTeamLehigh Team Leader Mrs. Oliver) Happy New Year’s!!!!  A time for new beginnings. As is custom, many people make New Year’s resolutions. Unfortunately, many people do not make it through the first week. Think of it as starting a new habit. Research shows it takes 21 days to form a habit.  Find something that you could do a better job at. It could have to do with school but does not have to. It could be something to make you healthier, it could be to help out around the house, or it could be something to make the world a better place. Be specific, start today, and make it a habit – do it for 21 days and see if it sticks.  Good Luck.

Team Moravian (6th) – (Twitter @NMSTeam Moravian/Facebook@NMSTeamMoravian Team Leader Mrs. Roufakis)
