2021 Keystone & PSSA Exam Schedule
Nitschmann Middle School
Exam Materials & Directions
All 2021 Keystone & PSSA exams will be administered to students electronically through their BASD Chromebooks on site at Nitschmann Middle School on the dates of testing. Students will be required to only bring their mask, water bottle, calculator, BASD Chromebook & charger on these testing dates. The charger is necessary in case the BASD Chromebook is not fully charged. In addition, students will be taking a lunch break between exams. Lunch may be brought from home or provided by the NMS Cafeteria.
Attendance
Students are required to attend school on the days of the exams as listed below. Students will not be permitted to leave school early for appointments once the testing session begins.
Electronic Devices
Students are required to place their cell phones, headphones, and/or smart watches in envelopes for security storage by the teacher in the testing room during each testing session.
Opt-Out/Exclusion Procedures
A parent/guardian may request to have their child excluded from participation based on reasons other than conflict with religious belief, even though there is no provision for this exclusion in the Pennsylvania regulations. The parent/guardian must write a letter or email directly to Dr. Mayes requesting this exclusion. This is due to Dr. Mayes no later than April 30, 2021. On dates of testing, students who have been excluded from the exam will be informed whether they are required or not to report to school.

Algebra 1 Keystone Testing
Keystone Algebra 1 testing will occur during the week of May 18, 2021 for students enrolled in the 8th grade Algebra 1 courses. All students, hybrid & e-Classroom students, should report to their homeroom at 8:05am. Students will be dismissed to the testing location for testing..

2021 PSSA Testing
PSSA exam testing will occur during the weeks of May 25, 2021 & June 1, 2021 for all students in grades 6, 7, & 8. All students, hybrid & e-Classroom students, should report to their homeroom at 8:05am. All students will be dismissed at the end of the school day at 3:05pm. Students who have opted out by their parent/guardian will not attend school in-person during these two weeks of testing.
