Boy scouts is cancelled for today<\/p>\n

AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS & NEMS THEATRE COMPANY:\u00a0Rehearsals:<\/p>\n

*Today, January 31st – Music Man Jr. rehearsal for Pick a Little Ladies and the Quartet from\u00a03:10-5:30<\/span><\/p>\n

*Wednesday, February 1st\u00a0– All cast singing\/dancing rehearsal from\u00a03:10-5:00<\/span><\/p>\n

*Saturday, February 4th\u00a0– All cast in scene one of Music Man Jr. from\u00a09:00-10:00, <\/span>ENTIRE CAST from\u00a010:00-noon<\/span><\/p>\n

*Stage crew will continue on Thursday\u00a03-4:30pm, Friday\u00a03-4:30pm, and Saturday\u00a09am to 12pm.<\/p>\n

*Just a reminder to students who will be attending the NEMS Spring Music Trip to Lake Compounce, Connecticut…your pink form is due this Wednesday, February 1st.\u00a0 Please get the form in no later thank\u00a0this Wednesday.\u00a0 If you did not receive a form, be sure to pick one up today…\u00a0 Thank you.<\/span><\/p>\n

*Girls Group, Boys Group, and NE Singers: \u00a0Mrs. Parker needs your permission slips for the All City Middle School Chorus Festival as soon as possible.\u00a0 If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Parker.\u00a0 Thanks.<\/span><\/p>\n

STOMP SHOW:\u00a0<\/span>The Northeast Stomp Show is back!\u00a0 Come and watch schools from Nitschmann, Liberty, Freedom, Allentown, and your very own Northeast show off their hip hop dancing and stepping!\u00a0 Tickets are on sale during lunch!\u00a0 They cost $8, so hurry up before the show gets sold out!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

STEP TEAM:\u00a0<\/span>Attention step team practices will be till\u00a05PM\u00a0up to the stomp show.\u00a0<\/span>*Step Team\u00a0Money is due for T-shirts and pants by the 31st bring it in ASAP<\/span><\/p>\n

DISMISSAL:\u00a0<\/strong>All students are to leave the school building upon dismissal at\u00a03:05PM\u00a0unless you are signed up and participating in an after school activity.\u00a0 Students MAY NOT wait in school or on school property for friends or siblings that are attending an activity.\u00a0 All students who participate in after school activities must also leave the building as soon as their activity is over.\u00a0 Students are not allowed to be in the building unsupervised!<\/b><\/p>\n

SPORTS<\/b>:\u00a0<\/span>All students attending the Northeast basketball games must remain in the gym during the games.\u00a0 Students may visit the concession stand or the restroom if needed at halftime or between game periods but may not continue to wander in and out of the gym.\u00a0 Students are also reminded that all school rules apply during the games and proper behavior is required.\u00a0 Students should come to the games to cheer on their teams and enjoy the competition.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

DONATION FOR COPS \u2018N\u201d KIDS:\u00a0<\/span>Last call for Cops \u2018n\u2019 Kids book drive! The book drive will run through Wednesday Feb 1<\/span>st<\/span>. Thank you.<\/span><\/p>\n

DONATIONS:\u00a0<\/span>Good Morning Northeast!\u00a0 Mileyshka and Natalie <\/span>are 6th graders making a difference. Their plan is to send care packages to soldiers. In order to make that work, they need your help!\u00a0<\/span><\/i>All you have to do is donate items like toiletries, snacks, clothes, etc.\u00a0This will be going on from\u00a0January 20th to February 1st. There will be two boxes on every floor so that you can put your donations in.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0They help all of us so please help them today!\u00a0<\/span>Thanks for all your help!<\/span><\/p>\n

HORNET FUNDRAISER:\u00a0<\/span>The Northeast Musical Hornets fundraiser kick off #3 is on!\u00a0 This is the LAST round of fundraisers for the current year.\u00a0 Any credits from these sales will be credited to this year’s Music in the Parks trip to Connecticut.\u00a0 Instrumental groups and NE Singers…please be sure to pick up this fundraising information in either the band or chorus rooms.\u00a0 If you have any questions, please see either Mr. Rupnik or Mrs. Parker.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/span><\/p>\n

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:\u00a0<\/span>In 1961,Vilma Martinez was a senior in high school who wanted to go on to college, but her counselor refused to advise her because Vilma was Mexican-American. Vilma didn’t let this stop her. She believed in herself, so she wrote to the University of Texas anyway. Just two and a half years later, she graduated and went on to law school at Columbia University. At the age of 30, Vilma Martinez became president of the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund.\u00a0\u00a0Here\u2019s what she has to say about education:\u00a0\u00a0Education is very important. It prepares you. You equip yourself to help others. It gives the tools to compete.\u00a0\u00a0Fortunately. The world has changed a great deal. It’s changed because of the unstoppable people like Vilma Martinez who believed in their own potential and overcame all the obstacles. Remember, there are teachers and counselors today who are committed to helping you realize your fullest potential.
