AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS & NEMS THEATRE COMPANY: Rehearsals:\u00a0WE ARE IN THE HOME STRETCH…PERFORMANCE TIME, cast and crew of Music Man Jr.! Please mark your planners accordingly:<\/span><\/p>\n

*Tuesday, February 28th: \u00a0Music Man rehearsal from\u00a03:10-6pm. <\/span>Please get into costume as quickly as possible!\u00a0 Do not worry about makeup or hair.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

*Wednesday, March 1st: \u00a0Morning in school performance, after school rehearsal from\u00a03:10-6pm<\/span><\/p>\n

*Thursday, March 2nd: \u00a0Morning in school performance, no after school rehearsal, EVENING PERFORMANCE at\u00a07 PM<\/span><\/p>\n

*Friday, March 3rd: \u00a0Morning in school performance, no after school rehearsal.<\/span><\/p>\n

*Saturday, March 4th: \u00a0Afternoon performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Come to Iowa and enjoy Northeast Middle School Theatre Company’s production of\u00a0<\/span>Music Man Jr.<\/span><\/i>! <\/span>Our story is set in July 1912, when a traveling salesman, “Professor” Harold Hill, arrives in River City, Iowa. Intrigued by the challenge of swindling the famously stubborn natives of Iowa, Hill convinces the townspeople of River City to buy instruments and uniforms for their youngsters in order to save them from getting into trouble. As the story unfolds, chaos ensues as Hill’s credentials are questioned by Marian Paroo, Mayor Shinn, and others. As Hill begins to develop feelings for Marian, he faces a difficult decision about leaving town.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember the classic songs from this musical…<\/span>Ya Got Trouble<\/span><\/i>? \u00a0<\/span>Shipoopi<\/span><\/i>?\u00a0<\/span>‘Til There Was You<\/span><\/i>?\u00a0<\/span>Wells Fargo Wagon<\/span><\/i>?\u00a0 These and many more will be performed by our talented students!<\/span><\/p>\n

NE’s performances, held in our auditorium, are\u00a0Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 7 PM and Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 3 PM…admission is $5.\u00a0 Come out and enjoy the students who make us NORTHEAST PROUD!<\/span><\/p>\n

DANCE TEAM:\u00a0<\/span>Do not forget that forms are due\u00a0tomorrow\u00a0and that you can be selling salsa to fundraise right now!\u00a0 Practice\u00a0tomorrow\u00a0after school.<\/span><\/p>\n

WORLD PERCUSSION:\u00a0<\/span>No after school practice this week.\u00a0 Stay tuned for next week!<\/span><\/p>\n

DISMISSAL<\/span>:\u00a0<\/b>All students are to leave the school building upon dismissal at\u00a03:05PM\u00a0unless you are signed up and participating in an after school activity.\u00a0 Students MAY NOT wait in school or on school property for friends or siblings that are attending an activity.\u00a0 All students who participate in after school activities must also leave the building as soon as their activity is over.\u00a0 Students are not allowed to be in the building unsupervised!<\/span><\/p>\n

STUDENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL:\u00a0<\/span>Student Leadership Council would like to remind you that you can be a leader, and not a litterer!\u00a0 Please help us keep Northeast clean! Remember to use the garbage cans\u00a0located outside of your morning entrance each day instead of the ground.\u00a0 Thanks!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

BOXTOPS:\u00a0Box Tops! Box Tops! Box Tops! Student Leadership received our check for over $700 from Box Tops. Let’s try for $500 more by\u00a0Wednesday.\u00a0 Please fill in a sheet and bring it in. Notice the Box Tops are trimmed and attached. Do not use staples. We will have another raffle in March. The prize will be afternoon admission to the Proud-A-Thon!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

LHS BAGPIPES INFORMATION:\u00a0Lessons Begin\u200b: Monday, February 27 from\u00a03:30-4:30pm.\u00a0Where:\u200b In the LHS band room #620<\/p>\n

What:\u200b Lessons are offered to students who are interested in auditioning for the Liberty bagpipes High School Bagpipe Corps. You will need a practice chanter to begin lessons. During your studies you will learn proper breathing, notes, and basic technique for playing the bagpipes. You will have fun and learn what it takes to be an LHS Bagpiper.***YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND***<\/p>\n

How to purchase a practice chanter:\u00a0You may buy one at Donegal Square or you can also purchase one online.<\/p>\n

SPORTS:\u00a0<\/span>Attention all Northeast Soccer Players, There will be an Open Gym after school until\u00a04pm\u00a0on Thursday. This is not try-outs. If you have any questions, please see Coach Spieker in room A108 during homeroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

*<\/span>There will be open gym for any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in trying out for softball, any position\u00a0this Wednesday\u00a0in the main gym.\u00a0 It will be over at\u00a04pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

*There will be a brief meeting after school\u00a0this Wednesday\u00a0in the cafeteria for any 8th grade boy interested in trying out for Liberty’s freshman baseball team.\u00a0 One of the coaches will be present to hand out and discuss important information.<\/span><\/p>\n

SPRING BOOK FAIR: It’s almost time for the Spring Book Fair! We’ll have the latest in teen reads as well as some favorites. The fair starts\u00a0Friday, March 3. Check with your world language, reading literacy, and math literacy teachers for the day your class is scheduled to visit the fair.<\/span><\/p>\n
