Please make sure to have your parents complete your picture order forms and return it to your homeroom teacher by picture day. Extra order forms are available in the Main Office and in Student Services. Picture retakes are scheduled for November 5, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROUD-A-THON:\u00a0<\/strong>8th graders who are volunteering to help at this Friday&#8217;s PROUD-A-THON should bring their completed signup sheet to Mrs. Parker in the chorus room during today&#8217;s homeroom.\u00a0 If you did not receive a form, please report to the chorus room to pick one up.\u00a0 Remember, you must have been a PROUD member last year.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reminder to students who are volunteering for this Friday&#8217;s PROUDATHON&#8230;please wear your PROUD t-shirt on Friday! Thank you for making us NORTHEAST PROUD!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ARCHERY<\/strong>: Please remember that Friday the 28th is a mandatory archery day for your team.\u00a0 We will be finishing the last of the required safety drills and taking our first shots.\u00a0 Please go to Mrs. Papagni\u2019s room (B305) as soon as school is over.\u00a0 Please remember to bring all of your safety equipment as you will need your equipment to take your first shots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STUDENT LEADERSHIP<\/strong>: Are you a leader???\u00a0A\u00a0student leader\u00a0is any student who takes on the responsibility of spreading knowledge through inspiration, tutoring, campaigns, fundraising, and being NORTHEAST PROUD!\u00a0 A student leader strives to change the world by starting with their own community.<\/p>\n<p>There will be an informational meeting held Thursday Day 4 in the library for students interested in joining Student Leadership. Spots are limited this year, so please tell your homeroom teacher if you are SERIOUSLY interested. Each homeroom will have no more than two representatives this year so we can focus on really making a difference. : )<\/p>\n<p><b>AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS:\u00a0<\/b>Rehearsal schedule for the week of September 24 &#8211; all rehearsals this week are from 3:10-4:00 in the chorus room. Please spread the word and get the sign-up sheet.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8th grade: Mrs Papagni\u00a0@ B305 on Tues. &amp; Thurs. starting 9\/20.\u00a0Please bring your assignments and Chromebook if you are attending. Homework club begins right after school and ends at\u00a04:05.<\/li>\n<li>7th grade: Miss Reier\u00a0@ A111 on Tues. &amp; Thurs. (most of the time) starting 9\/25.<\/li>\n<li>6th grade: Mr. Dawson\u00a0@ TBA on Mon. and Wed. starting 10\/1.<\/li>\n<li>For ESOL students, grades 6, 7, &amp; 8: Mrs. Diefenderfer @A100 on Mon. &amp; Wed. (most of the time)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WORLD LANGUAGE CLUB<\/strong>: Are you interested in learning about a new language and culture? Join World Language Club! The sign-up sheet and permission slips are outside Se\u00f1orita Danner&#8217;s room B201. Space is limited to 25- the first 25 to hand in a completed permission slip will be able to join World Language Club!<\/p>\n<p><strong>CREATIVE WRITING CLUB<\/strong>: Northeast&#8217;s brand-new creative writing club will be starting Wednesday October 3rd from 3:10-4:10pm! If you&#8217;re interested please see Miss Rinaldi in A112 to get a permission slip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BREAKFAST<\/strong>: We are excited to announce that Northeast Middle School now has breakfast extended until 8:15 am. Students will be permitted to stay in the cafeteria until 8:25 am. Students with free lunch also may receive a free breakfast. Reduced student breakfast is $.30. Paid student breakfast is $1.85.<\/p>\n<p>To help celebrate please join us in the cafeteria as we take the all-american favorite banana split and make it a breakfast special. For the week of September 24th-28th, you can build your own Lickity Split! Choose one or both varieties of yogurt and create your own masterpiece from a selection of toppings!<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTE ROCKET CLUB:\u00a0<\/strong>6th &amp;7th grade students who are interested in the after-school Este Rocket Club, may pick-up a permission slip in Room A-203 Mr. Flok.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DANCE TEAM:\u00a0<\/strong>ALL STUDENTS, Mr. Huie is starting Dance Team Auditions in a few weeks!\u00a0 The Northeast Dance Team is a hiphop dance team that students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade can try out for!\u00a0 We compete and perform in different places and it is super fun.\u00a0 Come to try-outs Friday, September 28th!<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHESS AND BOARD GAME PLAYERS<\/strong>: Students 6th Grade through 8th Grade are welcome to engage in chess playing to competitive mini tournaments with specialty chess boards and small life-size pieces as well as fun filled and challenging Board games that run from RISK to Monopoly! \u00a0Learn rules and new games that builds on math concepts and\u00a0sportsmanships. Chess Club Starts on Wednesdays\u00a0October 3rd\u00a0and Strategic Game Board Club starts in\u00a0November 7<sup>th<\/sup> on WEDNESDAYS! If you have any questions see Mr. Spieker room A108 and\/or Miss Vanderstel room A101 on the 7th Grade Floor! Please stop by to pick up forms and permission slips! FORMS are outside Mr. Spieker&#8217;s room and FORMS are inside Miss Vanderstel&#8217;s room. Any questions please see them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DROP OFF TABLE<\/strong>: Student Services has a drop off table.\u00a0 If you are expecting something dropped off, please come to the Student Services drop off table for pick up.\u00a0Ms. Osorio will write you a hall pass or sign your pass.\u00a0 If you are expecting money, please see Ms. Osorio. Money will not be left on the table.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BOXTOPS<\/strong>: Want to help our school raise money? Please bring in boxtops for education. Boxtops can be found on so many items! Simply cut them off and bring them to your homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers can then send them to Mrs. Derrington or Mrs. Braido and student council will take care of the rest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAFE TO TELL<\/strong>: It&#8217;s SAFE to Tell.&#8221; \u00a0The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner\u00a0to help remove any and all barriers\u00a0to education.\u00a0 You can refer your friends or yourself.\u00a0 Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry, &#8220;It&#8217;s Safe To Tell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PICTURE DAY:\u00a0Picture day is scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2018.
