Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast \u201cShout Out\u201d for the week of May 10<\/span>th<\/span> with a special \u201cshout out\u201d to all our wonderful mothers! Happy Mother\u2019s Day. May you enjoy your day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We wish to thank all the wonderful parents and students that extended to our teachers fond wishes and praise during last week\u2019s celebration of Teacher Appreciation. As noted, it was particularly hard to celebrate the week without being with children. We especially thank our parent organizations and community school folks for all they did to make our teachers feel so special during this terrible time. It really highlights the wonderful community in which we live.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This week we enter our ninth week of not being in school and now the Governor has extended our areas \u201cStay at Home\u201d orders until June 4<\/span>th<\/span>. The Governor\u2019s orders prevent us from allowing students to come into to school to clean out lockers or return materials. So please stay patient and when the time comes when we can do so, we will put out information and a process for doing so safely.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We ask that you stay in touch with our school and in particular with our \u201c@ Home with NEMS\u201d site where we are constantly trying to communicate some of the positive outcomes we are having during this COVID-19 closure. Additionally, continue to follow up with your children on their assignments and their accomplishments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Parents of 8<\/span>th<\/span> graders are asked to check with their children about family and student photos needed for our Virtual Moving Up ceremony. We want to be sure that all 8<\/span>th<\/span> grade students are included. Your children have been sent the particulars, so please ask them to submit those photos as soon as possible if they haven\u2019t already done so.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, <\/span>as we have noted every week please be reminded that Northeast serves as a food distribution center for our children on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1p.m.\u00a0 Please know that multiple breakfast and lunch items are provided in order to provide for the entire week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Buenas tardes nuestra familia de Northeast. <\/span>\u00a1Aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 nuestro “Shout Out” de Northeast para la semana del 11 de mayo con un “shout out” especial para todas nuestras maravillosas madres! Feliz d\u00eda de las madres. Que disfrutes tu d\u00eda.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deseamos agradecer a todos los maravillosos padres y estudiantes que extendieron a nuestros maestros deseos y elogios durante la celebraci\u00f3n de la apreciaci\u00f3n de los maestros la semana pasada. Como dijimos, fue particularmente dif\u00edcil celebrar la semana sin estar con los estudiantes. Agradecemos especialmente a nuestras organizaciones de padres y amigos de las escuelas comunitarias por todo lo que hicieron para que nuestros maestros se sintieran tan especiales durante este tiempo terrible. Realmente refleja la maravillosa comunidad en la que vivimos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Las \u00f3rdenes del gobernador nos impiden permitir que los estudiantes entren a la escuela para limpiar armarios o devolver materiales. Por lo tanto, tenga paciencia y cuando llegue el momento en que podamos hacerlo, publicaremos informaci\u00f3n y un proceso para hacerlo de manera segura.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le pedimos que se mantenga en contacto con nuestra escuela y, en particular, con nuestro sitio “@ Home with NEMS”, donde constantemente intentamos comunicar algunos de los resultados positivos que tenemos durante este cierre de COVID-19. Adem\u00e1s, contin\u00fae haciendo un seguimiento con sus hijos sobre sus tareas y sus logros.<\/span><\/p>\n

Se les pide a los padres de alumnos de octavo grado que consulten con sus hijos sobre las fotos familiares y estudiantiles necesarias para nuestra Ceremonia Virtual.
