Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. A second message will follow for our Spanish speaking families.\u00a0 Here is our Northeast \u201cShout Out\u201d for the week of May 17<\/span>th<\/span>. It is hard to believe that we are going into our tenth week of not being in school, but we are and that is really sad. This past weekend we should have been getting home from our band trip and this week preparing for our 8<\/span>th<\/span> Grade Farewell Dance.\u00a0 Well, none of those events or the countless other events can be experienced this year. However, we are doing our best to put together a great, virtual \u201cMoving Up\u201d ceremony for eighth graders and an informational, inviting video for our incoming sixth grade students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Noting our closure, please realize that until the \u201cStay at Home\u201d orders are lifted we cannot let students or parents come in for locker cleanouts or to collect personal belongings.\u00a0 We are \u201cbagging\u201d belongings from our 8<\/span>th<\/span> graders\u2019 lockers, so when the orders are lifted, we will be ready to go in getting those materials into the hands of students moving onto Liberty.\u00a0 As for 6<\/span>th<\/span> and 7<\/span>th<\/span> graders\u2019, we will wait until we return to empty those lockers.\u00a0 If you are waiting for refunds from money given for canceled fieldtrips or fundraisers, please be patient as the district is getting us a process to issue checks to parents for that money.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Onto sports: the fall coaches will be holding information Zooms the next two weeks starting on Monday, May 18, 2020. Current 6th and 7th grade students should check their Lunch Course for dates, times, information, and a link for a survey for students interested in athletics at Northeast.\u00a0 Boy is it nice to mention sports again!<\/span><\/p>\n

We ask that you stay in touch with our school and in particular with our \u201c@ Home with NEMS\u201d site where we are constantly trying to communicate some of the positive outcomes we are having during this COVID-19 closure.\u00a0 Also, continue to follow up with your children on their assignments and their accomplishments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Please note Northeast serves as a food distribution center for our children on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1p.m.\u00a0 Also know that this coming Wednesday, May 20<\/span>th<\/span>, we will be providing 4 individual breakfast and lunch items due to next weeks\u2019 Memorial Day observation.\u00a0 There will be no food distribution on Memorial Day, May 25<\/span>th<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Buenas tardes nuestra familia de Northeast. Aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 nuestro “Shout Out” de Northeast para la semana del 18 de mayo. Es dif\u00edcil creer que estamos entrando en nuestra d\u00e9cima semana de no estar en la escuela, pero lo estamos y eso es realmente triste. El pasado fin de semana deber\u00edamos haber llegado de nuestro viaje de la banda y esta semana prepar\u00e1ndonos para nuestro baile de despedida de octavo grado. Bueno, ninguno de esos eventos o los innumerables otros eventos se pueden experimentar este a\u00f1o. Sin embargo, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para organizar una gran ceremonia virtual para los alumnos de octavo grado y un video informativo para nuestros estudiantes entrantes de sexto grado.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomando nota de nuestro cierre, tenga en cuenta que hasta que se levanten las \u00f3rdenes de “Quedarse en casa” no podemos permitir que los estudiantes o los padres vengan a limpiar los armarios o recoger sus pertenencias personales. Estamos “empacando” pertenencias de los armarios de nuestros alumnos de octavo grado, para cuando se levanten las \u00f3rdenes, estaremos listos para entregar esos materiales a los estudiantes que se mudan a Liberty. En cuanto a los alumnos de sexto y s\u00e9ptimo grado, esperaremos hasta que volvamos para vaciar esos armarios. Si est\u00e1 esperando reembolsos de dinero por excursiones canceladas o eventos de recaudar fondos, tenga paciencia ya que el distrito nos est\u00e1 enviando un proceso para emitir cheques a los padres por ese dinero.<\/span><\/p>\n

Acerca de los deportes: los entrenadores de oto\u00f1o tendr\u00e1n reuniones de Zoom con informaci\u00f3n las pr\u00f3ximas dos semanas a partir del lunes 18 de mayo de 2020. Los estudiantes de sexto y s\u00e9ptimo grado deben consultar su curso de almuerzo para fechas, horarios, informaci\u00f3n y un enlace para una encuesta para estudiantes interesados en deportes en Northeast.\u00a0 \u00bfEs bueno mencionar los deportes otra vez!<\/span><\/p>\n

Le pedimos que se mantenga en contacto con nuestra escuela y, en particular, con nuestro sitio “@ Home with NEMS”, donde constantemente intentamos comunicar algunos de los resultados positivos que tenemos durante este cierre de COVID-19. Adem\u00e1s, contin\u00fae haciendo un seguimiento con sus hijos sobre sus tareas y sus logros.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tenga en cuenta que Northeast sirve como centro de distribuci\u00f3n de alimentos para nuestros ni\u00f1os los lunes y mi\u00e9rcoles de 10 a.m. a 1 p.m. Tambi\u00e9n sepa que el pr\u00f3ximo mi\u00e9rcoles 20 de mayo, proporcionaremos 4 alimentos individuales para el desayuno y el almuerzo debido a la observaci\u00f3n del D\u00eda Conmemorativo de la pr\u00f3xima semana. No habr\u00e1 distribuci\u00f3n de alimentos el 25 de mayo en el D\u00eda Conmemorativo.<\/span><\/p>\n
