Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. A second message will follow for our Spanish speaking families. Here is our Northeast \u201cShout Out\u201d for this week of May 24<\/span>th<\/span>, Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer.\u00a0 Cannot believe we have only two weeks of this school year left, and I must say we are happy with the effort put forth by most in this unprecedented time of learning. We are putting together our final touches on our \u201cMoving Up\u201d ceremony for eighth graders and an informational, inviting video for our incoming sixth grade students. Our \u201cMoving Up\u201d ceremony will be \u201cpushed out\u201d at its originally scheduled time, next Monday, June 1<\/span>st<\/span> at 7:00 p.m. Specific details will be sent out via next Sunday\u2019s Shout-Out as well as through Schoology.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since we are still under the \u201cStay at Home\u201d orders we cannot let students or parents come in for locker cleanouts or to collect personal belongings. We are currently finishing our \u201cbagging\u201d of belongings from our 8<\/span>th<\/span> graders\u2019 lockers, so when the orders are lifted, we will be ready to go in getting those materials into the hands of students moving onto Liberty.\u00a0 As for 6<\/span>th<\/span> and 7<\/span>th<\/span> graders\u2019, we will wait to decide how or if we will empty those lockers, or if we will wait until students return to school to clear them out.\u00a0 If you are waiting for refunds from money given for canceled fieldtrips or fundraisers, we will begin mailing out refund checks this week. We thank you for your patience as this has been a very arduous process.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Even though we are not sure about our fall sports, we thank those that \u201cchecked in\u201d to the meetings the coaches scheduled, and I know for them they wish they would be given the green light to bring those interested athletes together. However, until we get the go ahead, just keep in touch with your coaches. If you are unsure of what you need, please reach out to our Athletic Director, Mr. Korcienski for details.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember to stay in touch with our school and in particular with our \u201c@ Home with NEMS\u201d site where we are constantly communicating the positive outcomes we are having during this COVID-19 closure.\u00a0 These last two weeks it will be difficult to keep our children motivated to complete their assignments, so please as parents follow up with your children on their assignments and their accomplishments.\u00a0 <\/span>Another reminder that we will not be distributing lunches tomorrow, Memorial Day.\u00a0 Our next food distribution will be Wednesday, May 27<\/span>th<\/span> from 10 a.m. to 1p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

Buenas tardes nuestra familia de Northeast. Aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 nuestro “Shout Out” de Northeast para esta semana del 25 de mayo, D\u00eda Conmemorativo, el comienzo no oficial del verano. No puedo creer que solo nos queden dos semanas de este a\u00f1o escolar, y debo decir que estamos contentos con el esfuerzo realizado por la mayor\u00eda en este momento de aprendizaje sin precedentes. Estamos preparando nuestros toques finales en nuestra ceremonia para los alumnos de octavo grado y un video informativo para nuestros estudiantes entrantes de sexto grado. Nuestra ceremonia se mostrar\u00e1 a la hora programada originalmente, el pr\u00f3ximo lunes 1 de junio a las 7:00 p.m. Los detalles espec\u00edficos se enviar\u00e1n a trav\u00e9s del Shout Out del pr\u00f3ximo domingo, as\u00ed como a trav\u00e9s de Schoology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dado que todav\u00eda estamos bajo las \u00f3rdenes de “Quedarse en casa”, no podemos permitir que los estudiantes o los padres vengan a limpiar los armarios o recoger sus pertenencias personales. Actualmente estamos terminando de empacar las pertenencias de los armarios de nuestros alumnos de octavo grado, para cuando se levanten las \u00f3rdenes, estaremos listos para entregar esos materiales a los estudiantes que se mudan a Liberty. En cuanto a los alumnos de sexto y septimo grado, esperaremos para decidir c\u00f3mo o si vaciaremos esos armarios, o si esperaremos hasta que los estudiantes regresen a la escuela. Si est\u00e1 esperando reembolsos de dinero por excursiones canceladas o eventos de recaudar fondos, comenzaremos a enviar cheques esta semana. Le agradecemos su paciencia ya que este ha sido un proceso muy dif\u00edcil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aunque no estamos seguros de nuestros deportes de oto\u00f1o, agradecemos a aquellos que “se registraron” en las reuniones programadas por los entrenadores, y s\u00e9 por ellos que desear\u00edan recibir la luz verde para reunir a los atletas interesados. Sin embargo, por ahora mant\u00e9ngase en contacto con sus entrenadores. Si no est\u00e1 seguro de lo que necesita, comun\u00edquese con nuestro Director de Atletismo, el Sr. Korcienski para obtener m\u00e1s detalles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recuerde mantenerse en contacto con nuestra escuela y, en particular, con nuestro sitio “@ Home with NEMS”, donde constantemente estamos comunicando los resultados positivos que estamos teniendo durante este cierre de COVID-19. Estas \u00faltimas dos semanas ser\u00e1 dif\u00edcil mantener a nuestros estudiantes motivados para completar sus tareas, as\u00ed que por favor, como padres, hagan un seguimiento con sus hijos sobre sus tareas y sus logros. Otro recordatorio que no habr\u00e1 distribuci\u00f3n de alimentos ma\u00f1ana, D\u00eda Conmemorativo. Nuestra pr\u00f3xima distribuci\u00f3n de alimentos ser\u00e1 el mi\u00e9rcoles 27 de mayo de 10 a.m. a 1 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n
