CROSS COUNTRY<\/b>:<\/span> It was a beautiful day for our first cross country meet at Freedom. Lilah McClarin finished in second place overall for the girls. Casey Huie finished 6th overall for the boys. Everyone ran their heart out \u00a0and made us Northeast proud!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

LIBRARY:<\/strong> Students, do you want to sign out a library book and have it delivered to your homeroom? Just go to the Northeast website, click on Library – Look for a book. When you’ve found the book, click on Library – Request a library book and fill out the Google form. We’ll get the book to you on the next day you’re in Northeast. It’s that simple!<\/div>\n

We need your library books returned! Some students still have books from last year when school shut down. Look around and bring them back! There is a Return Box outside the library entrance! Thank you for getting them back to our school!<\/div>\n

ACTIVITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • CHESS CLUB<\/b>: Good morning Hornets! Virtual chess club is just around the corner! Club days will take place on Mondays from 3:25-4:25pm and began on October 6th for 10 weeks. Please see Mr. Wynn in A106 for a permission slip. Have a wonderful day and see you soon!<\/span><\/li>\n
  • DEBATE CLUB<\/b>: Hello and welcome to a perfect opportunity for you to express your opinions and points of view on real world and life issues. Debate Club takes place after school in room A213 in a controlled environment.\u00a0<\/span>At every meeting, we begin by spending the time researching the topic of the day on computers and then we debate about the findings.\u00a0<\/span>All Grades Welcome! Debate Club meets Tuesdays from 3:05- 4:25 (A-L students) Wednesdays from 3:05-4:25 (M-Z students)<\/li>\n
  • STUDENT LEADERSHIP<\/b>: Are you a leader? Are you responsible, outgoing, and have a desire to help others? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we want you! Tell your homeroom teacher you\u2019re interested in joining student leadership! We need one representative for each homeroom. Student leadership will begin meeting on Days 4 A and 4 B in the library during hornet block. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • SUPER HERO or SUPER VILLAINS CLUB<\/b>: Attention all those Super Heros or Super Villains out there! Superhero Research Club is back this year with high demand! Superhero research is only open to ALL grade THIS YEAR! Again, open TO ALL grades THIS YEAR! The Club will be held on every TUESDAY FOR A-L HYBRID LEARNERS AND every THURSDAY M-Z HYBRID LEARNERS for one hour after school. The first days will begin on Tuesday October 6<\/span>th <\/span>and Thursday October 7<\/span>th<\/span>. We are only allowing 26 total students, which means only 13 students on both days, so sign up before you lose out! Please have your permission slips completed and brought back to your homeroom teacher. Mr. Spieker or Ms Rinaldi will receive it in our school mailbox. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Spieker in room A108 or Ms Rinaldi in room A112.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • WORLD PERCUSSION: World percussion auditions will be after school<\/span> October 6th and 7th on Tuesday and <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Wednesday. If you cannot make it, please see <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Mr. Huie asap<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    THOUGHT OF THE DAY<\/b>: <\/span>Listen to these words from former <\/span>American columnist Ann Landers:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>There are three kinds of people in the <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>world: those who make things happen, <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>those who watch things happen, and those <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>who say “What happened???”<\/span><\/em>\u00a0<\/span>So take a look. Are you in the game, on <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the sidelines, or asleep under the <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>bleachers?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>American Philosopher William James says: I will Act as if what I DO makes a \u00a0difference.<\/em> And it does! So let’s have 100 \u00a0percent participation today. Be in action!<\/span><\/p>\n

    BREAKFAST<\/b>: Attention all students: The cafeteria is now serving free breakfast and lunch meals for all students every day until the end of December. You heard that right… free breakfast and lunch meals! All students automatically qualify and no form needs to be submitted. Take advantage of this program and join us in the cafeteria for your free breakfast and lunch each day that you are in school.<\/span><\/p>\n

    LUNCH<\/b>: Students can drop off money for deposit in the morning to the breakfast cashier or Mrs. Cabrera. The money or check must be in an envelope with the student’s name and ID number. All funds will be deposited onto student accounts after the breakfast service. Cashiers <\/span>will not <\/b>accept cash during lunch.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    SAFE: <\/b>It’s SAFE to Tell.” The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you. Don’t worry, “It’s Safe To Tell.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>

    DISMISSAL<\/b>: Students please note that you are not permitted to remain in the building after dismissal unless you are involved in an activity. If you are waiting for a friend please wait outside the building.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    WATER FOUNTAINS<\/b>: Water fountains are only to be used to fill up water bottles and not to be used for getting drinks. Students are allowed to bring a water bottle with them every day and are encouraged to do so! Thank you!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
