Help make <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">someone&#8217;s winter warmer by donating <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">your <\/span><b>gently used <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">coats and jackets. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Donations can be dropped off in Student <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Services. See Mrs. Bush in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Student Services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THANKSGIVING DRIVE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Student Leadership is holding its annual <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thanksgiving basket food drive. Each <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">homeroom should have received a list of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">items we are collecting. Our goal is to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">get 30 baskets completed with a full <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thanksgiving meal, so that we can help <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">out some of our families right here at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Northeast! Homerooms with completed <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">baskets will be entered into a drawing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for a prize!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ACTIVITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><b>8<\/b><b>th <\/b><b>GRADE HOMEWORK CLUB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span> 8th grade homework club will be meeting\u00a0 in room B305 from 3:05 to 4:05pm on\u00a0 Wednesdays and Thursdays. Catch up on \u00a0missing assignments and get help with your\u00a0 work. If you have any quests please see\u00a0 Mrs. Papagni in room B305.<\/li>\n<li><b>ARTSMART<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span> This is the last week to join ArtSmart! \u00a0We still have space in the Creative \u00a0Writing class on Tuesdays and the \u00a0Jewelry Making class on Wednesdays. \u00a0Both classes are held after school from \u00a03:10 pm to 4:10 pm. Don&#8217;t wait\u2013 classes are starting on Wednesdays in \u00a0November!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ATHLETICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>CROSS COUNTRY:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Northeast cross country team ran their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hearts out at their last meet of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">season. You guys did awesome, we are so <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">proud of everyone. Thanks for a great <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">season!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>THOUGHT OF THE DAY<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How many of you have heard the word <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">virtue? It<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s not a word we hear very<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">much anymore, but it<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s a word worth <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">knowing about. As a matter of fact, it <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">comes from the Latin word <em>virtus<\/em>, which <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">means \u201cworth.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Let<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s think about that. If a person has a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">lot of self-worth, then she has virtue. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She values herself and the world around <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">her. She<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s honest. She has a strong sense <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of what<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s right and what<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s wrong. It<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">too bad virtue has become such an old fashioned word. Maybe we should bring it <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">back into style. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now listen to the words of Dante, the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">greatest poet of the Middle Ages:<\/span> <em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You were born to live like brutes,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">but to follow after virtue and knowledge.<\/span><\/em> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Today, remember the words of Dante and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">follow after knowledge. Listen to your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">teachers, study hard, and go the extra <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">mile. Then be good to yourself and to each <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">other. After all, we<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u02bc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">re not brutes, are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">we?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>BREAKFAST<\/b>: <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attention all students: The cafeteria is now serving free breakfast and lunch meals for all students every day until the end of December. You heard that right&#8230; free breakfast and lunch meals! All students automatically qualify and no form needs to be submitted. Take advantage of this program and join us in the cafeteria for your free breakfast and lunch each day that you are in school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>LUNCH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Students can drop off money for deposit in the morning to the breakfast cashier or Mrs. Cabrera. The money or check must be in an envelope with the student&#8217;s name and ID number. All funds will be deposited onto student accounts after the breakfast service. Cashiers <\/span><b>will not <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">accept cash during lunch.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SAFE: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It&#8217;s SAFE to Tell.&#8221; The SAFE Team exists to help students with problems in a confidential manner to help remove any and all barriers to education. You can refer your friends or yourself. Just fill out the SAFE to Tell form which you can find in your homeroom, Student Services, the Library and the Main Office and drop the form in the SAFE Box or give it to your homeroom teacher who will deposit the form for you.
