Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this last full week of October. It does feel a little strange realizing this week includes Halloween and yet we have nothing to share, because the city’s Halloween Parade will be virtual this year. It is also typically the week we schedule our “Fall Harvest” dance, but again because of social distancing and other COVID restrictions we cannot do that either. In school please realize that this is the second to last full week of the first quarter, so children are encouraged to reach out to their team of teachers if they are missing assignments or would like to improve their grades somehow. With that being noted, please be on the lookout as to how we plan to hold first quarter student led report card conferences the week before our Thanksgiving break. The dates for these “virtual” conferences are Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th. Monday’s conferences will be in the afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Tuesday’s conferences will be in the evening from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. As we prepare for the end of our first quarter, please continue to check on your child’s progress through our Student Access Center. Again, if you need assistance please call the main office at 610-868-8581 and ask for Mrs. Rodriquez. As we have stated on numerous occasions, please access your child’s grades and progress daily in Schoology on our Home Access Center in order to keep updated and informed of your child’s progress.

In November we will be looking to begin a pilot breakfast program which is free for all children. Students will be given the opportunity to grab a “Morning Jump Start” breakfast packet when they enter the building, and they will be permitted to eat the breakfast while announcements are playing in the classroom. We are hoping by making breakfast easy and convenient, our children will take advantage of partaking in what some would say is the most important meal of the day for children. With this in mind, may we also remind families that Northeast is a food distribution site for all children every Monday. We strongly encourage families to take advantage of this service. Information can be found on our district website regarding this opportunity.

We are in the process of wrapping up our fall sports season, and we congratulate our girls volleyball team for going undefeated against all of our fellow Bethlehem middle schools. The girls not only won every match against our sister schools, they won every game at the varsity level as well. Way to go Lady Hornets! In football we have two games left. This Thursday we play East Hills in the BASD Stadium at Liberty. The game begins at 5:30 p.m. Have a great remainder to your weekend and a great end to the month of October!

Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends.
