Help make <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">someone&#8217;s winter warmer by donating <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">your <\/span><em>gently used <\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">coats and jackets. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Donations can be dropped off in Student <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Services. Questions? See Mrs. Bush in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Student Services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>PROUD SOCIETY:<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Good morning Northeast. We are excited to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">kick off our proud society events this year<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">with our first taking place in December. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We will hold an ice cream and movie social <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in the auditorium for the first 20 students <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">who earn entry into the Proud Society. In<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">addition, you will receive a free Northeast<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Proud T-shirt. So, check your Schoology<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">profile for your virtual hornet fives and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">proud pounds and when you have enough to<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">enter, fill out the online application form<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">provided by your homeroom teachers.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please see Mr. Wynn in A103 or your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">homeroom teachers with any questions.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have a wonderful day!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SCHOOL STORE:<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The school store will be open on Day 2 this <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">week Wednesday and Thursday during<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hornet block. So, come on down and check <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">out our school supplies, masks and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">discounted spirit wear!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>STUDENT LEADERSHIP DRIVE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Baby it\u2019s cold outside!! Student leadership <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">will be collecting NEW hats, scarves, and<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">gloves! Please give your donations to your<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">homeroom teacher, and they will make sure <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">they get to Mrs. Derrington. Thank you <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and stay warm!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ACTIVITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><b>CHORUS<\/b><b>: <\/b>All students, there is chorus practice today. <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attention 8th grade students: If there are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">any 8th grade students who are interested in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">joining Liberty High School&#8217;s chorus, please <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">contact Mrs. Parker via Schoology or email <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">her at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dparker@basdschools.org<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Catch up on \u00a0missing assignments and get help with your\u00a0 work. If you have any quests please see\u00a0 Mrs. Papagni in room B305.<\/li>\n<li><b>READING OLYMPICS:<\/b><b> <\/b>Do you have a love for reading and \u00a0competition? If so, join Northeast&#8217;s\u00a0 Reading Olympic team! Together we will \u00a0read popular books and prepare to\u00a0 compete in a Jeopardy-style competition.\u00a0 This club will meet during Hornet Block \u00a0on Day 2. Please see Mrs. Tenaglia. in Room A302 for a permission slip, or send her an email for an electronic version.<\/li>\n<li><b>WORLD PERCUSSION<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span> There is no practice during activity today, \u00a0but we will practice Thursday after \u00a0school. Let&#8217;s get ready for the holiday \u00a0concert!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>THOUGHT OF THE DAY<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The word influence literally means to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">flow in. You might say that when one <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">person person influences another, the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">example he or she is setting flows into <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">someone else. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When famous opera singer Leontyne Price <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">was just nine years old, her mother took <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">her to hear Marian Anderson sing. Marian <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anderson was the first African-American <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to appear at New York City\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Metropolitan Opera. Marian Anderson\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">magnificent voice flowed into Leontyne <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Price and influenced her forever. Ms. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Price decided then and there to become a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">great opera singer&#8230; and she did!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For better or for worse, others greatly <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">influence us. That\u2019s why studying the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">lives of great people is so important. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Today, ask yourself this: Who in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">world is influencing me in a positive way <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and why?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>BREAKFAST<\/b>: <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attention all students: The cafeteria is now serving free breakfast and lunch meals for all students every day until the end of December. You heard that right&#8230; free breakfast and lunch meals! All students automatically qualify and no form needs to be submitted. Take advantage of this program and join us in the cafeteria for your free breakfast and lunch each day that you are in school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>LUNCH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Students can drop off money for deposit in the morning to the breakfast cashier or Mrs. Cabrera. The money or check must be in an envelope with the student&#8217;s name and ID number. All funds will be deposited onto student accounts after the breakfast service. Cashiers <\/span><b>will not <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">accept cash during lunch.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SAFE: <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It&#8217;s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to help students with problems in a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">confidential manner to help remove any and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">all barriers to education. You can refer <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">your friends or yourself. It&#8217;s now safer and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">form which you can find ONLINE in your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">guidance counselor&#8217;s resources folder.
