Good afternoon Northeast Families and Friends. Here is our Shout Out for the week beginning December 14<\/span>th<\/span> and our first day of our Short-Term Remote Learning. At this point, the Superintendent, Dr. Roy, has made the decision that until January 12<\/span>th<\/span> all learning will be done virtually due to the Covid 19 virus and its\u2019 infectious rate throughout our community and across the state. Parents and students should have received multiple messages via email, voicemail and Schoology regarding the expectations during this time. If you have not yet done so, please go into our school website where there are numerous references and links with information regarding our remote learning during this time. If you still have questions or concerns about those expectations, please reach out to your child\u2019s counselor, homeroom teacher or team leader. None of us wanted to see our school go totally virtual, however, we hope that by following these mitigations we can beat this virus sooner versus later.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As for some particulars during this time:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First, please note that our dining services will be providing breakfast and lunches for all <\/span>school<\/b> days throughout the time students are not personally in school. Please come pick up free breakfast and lunches during the Short-Term Remote Learning days. We will be distributing meals on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on December 14<\/span>th<\/span>,\u00a016<\/span>th<\/span>,\u00a021<\/span>st<\/span>, 23<\/span>rd<\/span>, and January 4<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0and 6<\/span>th<\/span>. Meals can be picked up at our 7<\/span>th<\/span> grade\/auditorium entrance. Meals are <\/span>FREE<\/b> and available for all BASD students in addition to all children age 18 and under. Please come and get up to 14 <\/span>FREE<\/b> meals for each week.\u00a0 In addition, if you do come to pick up meals during the distribution hours, Mr. Henning, our permanent substitute teacher, will be here to give in person support to students who may be having difficulty with their lessons. We know that sometimes children just need an in-person connection to help with their work.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Second, please note that our school office will be open throughout the virtual learning closure, however, the office hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You may call the school anytime during these hours to reach the office staff, the nurse\u2019s office or any of the counselors.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, please note that the mid-point of the second quarter is this week, so students should do their best to make up any missed work. If in doubt, please encourage your children to reach out to their teachers. No teachers want to fail any student, but they cannot help their students if they do not hear from them. Not being in school only complicates that situation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Buenas tardes Familias y Amigos de Northeast. En este punto, el Superintendente, Dr. Roy, ha tomado la decisi\u00f3n de que hasta el 12 de enero todo el aprendizaje se realizar\u00e1 virtualmente debido al virus Covid 19 y su velocidad de infecci\u00f3n en toda nuestra comunidad y en todo el estado. Los padres y los estudiantes deber\u00edan haber recibido varios mensajes por correo electr\u00f3nico, correo de voz y Schoology con respecto a las expectativas durante este tiempo. Si a\u00fan no lo ha hecho, visite el sitio web de nuestra escuela donde hay numerosas referencias y enlaces con informaci\u00f3n sobre nuestro aprendizaje remoto durante este tiempo. En cuanto a algunos detalles durante este tiempo:<\/span><\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, si viene a recoger las comidas durante las horas de distribuci\u00f3n, el Sr. Henning, nuestro maestro sustituto permanente, estar\u00e1 aqu\u00ed para brindar apoyo en persona a los estudiantes que puedan tener dificultades con sus lecciones. Sabemos que a veces los estudiantes solo necesitan una conexi\u00f3n en persona para ayudarlos con su trabajo.<\/span><\/p>\n
