Good afternoon Northeast Families and Friends. Here is our Northeast \u201cShout Out\u201d for our week of January 17<\/span>th<\/span>. First may I remind everyone that we are off from school tomorrow, the 18<\/span>th,<\/span> in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. In observance of this day, may we be reminded of the bigotry and racism still running rampant in our great nation, and may we think of how we can all come together in unity to fight discrimination and hatred. Hopefully our children will see a day when our world lives in peace and harmony with one another, because thus far as a society we have not done what we have had to in order to achieve that Dream! With our district being closed tomorrow, e-Classroom students should look to see their lessons no later than Tuesday morning.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On to other school news: This Wednesday Liberty High School will be hosting a Parent Night for its incoming class of Freshman next year. We hope many of our 8<\/span>th<\/span> grade parents will be able to sign in to this virtual orientation of Liberty High School, as this is a very important first contact. The orientation begins at 7:00 p.m. The link for the orientation can be found on Liberty High School\u2019s website.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Another important announcement is that the <\/span>BASD Dining Services will distribute a week worth of free breakfast and lunch meals for students here at Northeast from\u00a0<\/span>10:00 am through 5:00 pm<\/b>, on\u00a0<\/span>ALL MONDAYS IN JANUARY, including Martin Luther King Day<\/b>, and\u00a0<\/span>ALL MONDAYS IN FEBRUARY EXCEPT Presidents\u2019 Day*.<\/b> DISTRIBUTION FOR THAT WEEK WILL BE ON\u00a0<\/span>FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12<\/b>*. Children do NOT need to be present for the meals to be picked up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In other exciting news, our athletics for the winter start with their sign-ups this week.\u00a0 Though the seasons will be shortened, it will be nice to see the children back on the hardwood. Have a great remainder to your weekend, and a nice day of service in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Buenas tardes Familias y Amigos de Northeast. Primero, quisiera recordarles a todos que estamos fuera de la escuela ma\u00f1ana, d\u00eda 18, en observancia del d\u00eda feriado de Martin Luther King Jr.\u00a0 En la observancia de este d\u00eda, que recordemos el fanatismo y el racismo que a\u00fan prevalecen en nuestra gran naci\u00f3n, y que pensemos en c\u00f3mo podemos unirnos todos en unidad para luchar contra la discriminaci\u00f3n y el odio. Ojal\u00e1 que nuestros hijos vean el d\u00eda en que nuestro mundo viva en paz y armon\u00eda unos con otros, porque hasta ahora, como sociedad, \u00a1no hemos hecho lo que ten\u00edamos que hacer para lograr ese sue\u00f1o! Con nuestro distrito cerrado ma\u00f1ana, los estudiantes de e-Classroom deben recibir sus lecciones no m\u00e1s tarde que el martes por la ma\u00f1ana.<\/p>\n

Este mi\u00e9rcoles, Liberty organizar\u00e1 una noche de padres para su clase entrante de noveno grado el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o. Esperamos que muchos de nuestros padres de octavo grado puedan participar en esta orientaci\u00f3n virtual de Liberty High School, ya que este es un primer contacto muy importante.
