Just<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">grab one off of the clothes line!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ACTIVITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CHORUS:<\/strong> Welcome back, chorus members!<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thank you for your time and talent given <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">back in December for our winter <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">concert. It&#8217;s time to start a new year <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">with more music! Please visit the PUMAS <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">website to see what is ahead, including a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">song whose lyrics were written by a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">former Northeast student! Stop by the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">chorus room to pick up your copy of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">song &#8220;Stand&#8221;. You may also return your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">music as well&#8230;just bring it to the chorus <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">room. Gentlemen, we are also gearing up <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for Hamilton&#8217;s You&#8217;ll Be Back&#8230;the crowns <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are in! We are still \u00a0working virtually at this point, but we \u00a0want to hear your voice and have you join us! <b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>HOMEWORK CLUB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span>8th grade homework club will be meeting in room B305 from 3:05 to 4:05pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Catch up on \u00a0missing assignments and get help with your work. If you have any quests please see \u00a0Mrs. Papagni in room B305.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">7th grade homework club &#8211; Miss Rinaldi will<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">be running Wednesday and Thursday this<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">week in her room A112 from 3:05-4:15. <\/span>6th grade homework club meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school from 3:05- 4:15pm with Miss Capuano in room A202.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MUSICAL:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It&#8217;s time to prepare for NE&#8217;s Musical<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Review! This club will\u00a0 meet remotely on Mondays after the\u00a0 school day beginning on January 25th. \u00a0You will receive a full proud pound for\u00a0 attendance. Northeast Middle School \u00a0chess club is a great way to make friends\u00a0 and support our community! Please see \u00a0Mr. Wynn in A107 for more information \u00a0and a permission slip!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ATHLETICS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>BOYS BASKETBALL:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attention all 7th and 8th grade boys<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">interested in trying out for boy&#8217;s basketball.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There will be a meeting in the auditorium this<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thursday (A-L) and Friday (M-Z) from 8:30 to<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">8:45am. We will go over what you need to<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">know to be eligible to try out for the team.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Boy&#8217;s basketball tryouts will begin on MONDAY, \u00a01\/25 at 3:15 in the Main Gym. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You MUST have your physical completed and all forms filled out if you want to try out. See Coach Carlstrom in D106 if you have any questions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CHEERLEADING:<\/strong> Attention 7th and 8th grade students <\/span>interested in trying out for winter cheerleading. Tryouts will be held on 2\/2\/2021 and 2\/3\/2021 from 3:30 to 4:30\u00a0in the auditorium. Please bring your own water bottle and masks must be worn at \u00a0all times. Please come prepared to show \u00a0the following: 1. Tumbling (Not required but if\u00a0 you can we would like to see what you can do) 2. Dance routine (8 count minimum) 3. Cheer\u00a0 &amp; Past cheer experience Think you have what it takes to join the team? Come and try-out. If you played a Fall sport, a recertification form should be filled out. You must have a PIAA <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">physical packet completed and turned in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to participate. Practices will be held at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Liberty in the wrestling room in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">evenings starting at 6:00 pm due to the<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hybrid schedule and other winter sports <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">practices. Participants must bring their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">own water bottle and masks must be <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">worn at all times. Actually, it&#8217;s an important <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">part of becoming a successful adult. It <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">means you&#8217;ve taken charge in your life <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and have the freedom to make <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">responsible decisions about how you will <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">live and the person you will be.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sadly, many young people in their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">attempt to earn more freedom, actually <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">trap themselves in a place with no <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">freedom at all. They start experimenting <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">with drugs and alcohol, and soon they are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">caught up in an addiction that has <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">complete control over them. And listen <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">up. That&#8217;s when they really lose their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">freedom. The addiction takes complete <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">control of their lives.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So here&#8217;s a little secret : <em>The secret of <\/em><\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">happiness is freedom. The secret of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">freedom is courage. <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have the courage to say no even if your peers are pressuring you to use drugs or alcohol. Don&#8217;t risk an addiction that could take over your life and rob you of your freedom. Choose what is right for you. You deserve the freedom and happiness that will come with making the right choice<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>LUNCH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do you bring your lunch from home? If you do, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">you can add a fruit, veggie and milk for free!!!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That&#8217;s right! You can jazz up your lunch in the<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cafeteria with a fruit, veggie and milk for free <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">if you bring your lunch from home. Bon\u00a0 appetit!! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SAFE: <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It&#8217;s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to help students with problems in a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">confidential manner to help remove any and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">all barriers to education. You can refer <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">your friends or yourself. It&#8217;s now safer and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">form which you can find ONLINE in your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">guidance counselor&#8217;s resources folder.
