Stop by the<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">main entrance or the hornet on the 1st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">floor and help yourself to a hat, scarf, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">gloves, or fuzzy socks if you are in need! <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Student leadership loves you and wants<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to help you stay warm this winter! Just<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">grab one off of the clothes line!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ACTIVITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><b>HOMEWORK CLUB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span>8th grade homework club will be meeting in room B305 from 3:05 to 4:05pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Catch up on \u00a0missing assignments and get help with your work. If you have any quests please see \u00a0Mrs. Papagni in room B305.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">7th grade homework club &#8211; Miss Rinaldi will<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">be running Wednesday and Thursday this<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">week in her room A112 from 3:05-4:15. <\/span>6th grade homework club meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school from 3:05- 4:15pm with Miss Capuano in room A202.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MUSICAL: <\/strong>Students who are interested in learning about this year&#8217;s NEMSTC Musical Review are to come to a meeting either Thursday, January 28th or Friday, January 29th from 3:10 until 4 PM in the chorus room, depending on the day you are assigned to be in school. We will be discussing how we will move forward, as well as handing out music, contracts, and schedules. We will be reviewing how to read the music for all. This club will\u00a0 meet remotely on Mondays after the\u00a0 school day beginning on January 25th. \u00a0You will receive a full proud pound for\u00a0 attendance. Northeast Middle School \u00a0chess club is a great way to make friends\u00a0 and support our community! Please see \u00a0Mr. Wynn in A107 for more information \u00a0and a permission slip!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ATHLETICS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>BOYS BASKETBALL:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attention 7th and 8th grade boys.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Boy&#8217;s basketball tryouts will be today at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3:15 in the Main Gym. You MUST have <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">your physical completed and all forms <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">filled out if you want to try out. See <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coach Carlstrom in D106 if you have any <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">questions.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CHEERLEADING:<\/strong> Attention 7th and 8th grade students <\/span>interested in trying out for winter cheerleading. Tryouts will be held on 2\/2\/2021 and 2\/3\/2021 from 3:30 to 4:30\u00a0in the auditorium. Please bring your own water bottle and masks must be worn at \u00a0all times. Please come prepared to show \u00a0the following: 1. Tumbling (Not required but if\u00a0 you can we would like to see what you can do) 2. Dance routine (8 count minimum) 3. Cheer\u00a0 &amp; Past cheer experience Think you have what it takes to join the team? Come and try-out. You must have a completed <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">physical form in order to try out. If you <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">played a Fall sport, a recertification form <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">should be filled out. Please see Coach <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rodriguez or Coach Schaffrick with any <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">questions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>THOUGHT OF THE DAY<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brigadier General Sherian Cadoria once told <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">a story about a childhood incident that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">made a big impact on her life. She and her <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">brother and sister went shopping, and the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cashier gave them back a penny too much <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">change. When they got home told their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">mom what happened, she made them walk <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">three miles back to the store to return <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the money. She punished all three of them <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">because she believed that one of them <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">should have known it was wrong and spoken <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">up.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brigadier General Cadoria learned a lesson she never forgot. Remember it takes only one person in a group to say &#8220;this is wrong.&#8221; It takes only one person to make a difference. The next time you are faced with negative peer pressure , do the right thing. Remember this story and be a leader!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>LUNCH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do you bring your lunch from home? If you do, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">you can add a fruit, veggie and milk for free!!!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That&#8217;s right! You can jazz up your lunch in the<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cafeteria with a fruit, veggie and milk for free <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">if you bring your lunch from home. Bon\u00a0 appetit!! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SAFE: <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It&#8217;s SAFE to Tell. The SAFE Team exists<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to help students with problems in a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">confidential manner to help remove any and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">all barriers to education. You can refer <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">your friends or yourself. It&#8217;s now safer and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">easier to tell: just fill out the SAFE to Tell <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">form which you can find ONLINE in your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">guidance counselor&#8217;s resources folder.
