Readiness Indicator for Future Ready PA Index"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><\/div><p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>School Performance Profile (SPP) will be replaced with PA Future Ready Index starting in the 2018-19 school year.\u00a0 As a result, the data collection for this new dashboard will occur during the 2017-18 school year and have an impact on planning, instruction, and data collection to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Future Ready PA Index is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A more holistic tool for communities to measure school success.<\/li>\n<li>Less reliant on point-in-time standardized test scores.<\/li>\n<li>Comprehensive measures that value a school&#8217;s efforts to help all students learn, grow, and succeed in the classroom and beyond.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), there are six (6) Federal Accountability Indicators:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>% Proficient \/ Advanced on PSSA\/Keystone Exams<\/li>\n<li>Meeting Annual growth Expectations (PVAAS)<\/li>\n<li>English Language Proficiency<\/li>\n<li>Graduation Rate<\/li>\n<li>Career Standards \/ Readiness<\/li>\n<li>Chronic Absenteeism<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Of the six indicators, four are mandated by the Federal Department of Education and two were selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Career Readiness Indicator\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures that all students have access to career exploration and preparation activities that are standards-aligned and evidence-based.<\/li>\n<li>Percent of students who demonstrate meaningful engagement in career exploration and preparation and implementation of individualized career plans through separate, specific measures based on grade-level benchmarks aligned to the Pennsylvania CEW Standards.<\/li>\n<li>The percentage of students who, by the end of GRADE 5, demonstrate engagement in career exploration and preparation aligned to the CEW standards via PA Career Zone or a locally designed career exploration and preparation program\/curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>The percentage of students who, by the end of grade 8, create an individualized career plan and participate in career preparation activities aligned to the CEW Standards.<\/li>\n<li>The percentage of students who, by the end of grade 11, implement their individualized career plan through the ongoing development of a career portfolio and participation in career preparation activities aligned to the CEW Standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Career Portfolios<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the end of grades 5, 8, and 11, students will have to produce a variety of items\/evidence aligned to the 4 strands in the CEW Standards that demonstrate their awareness and understanding of the standards.\u00a0 The monitoring of these portfolios will occur through the Department of Education.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"tablepress-21-name\" class=\"tablepress-table-name tablepress-table-name-id-21\">Career Portfolio Evidence\/Components<\/h2>\n\n<table id=\"tablepress-21\" class=\"tablepress tablepress-id-21\" aria-labelledby=\"tablepress-21-name\">\n<thead>\n<tr class=\"row-1\">\n\t<th class=\"column-1\">By end of Grade 5:<\/th><th class=\"column-1\">\u2022\t6 pieces of evidence<br \/>\n\u2022\t2 per year, per grade level<br \/>\n\u2022\tAt least 1 piece of evidence per CEW Strand.<br \/>\n<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">\u2022\tStudent has a career portfolio containing the K-5 evidence.<br \/>\n\u2022\tAdditional 6 pieces of evidence.<br \/>\n\u2022\t2 per year, per grade level. <br \/>\n\u2022\tAt least 1 piece of evidence per CEW Strand. <br \/>\n\u2022\tOne of the pieces of evidence for the 6-8 band must be the student\u2019s individualized career plan.<br \/>\n<\/td><td class=\"column-3\">\u2022\tStudent has a career portfolio containing the K-5 and 6-8 grade band evidence. <br \/>\n\u2022\tAdditional 8 pieces of evidence collected in grades 9-11. <br \/>\n\u2022\t2 per year, per grade level<br \/>\n\u2022\tAt least 1 piece of evidence per CEW Strand<br \/>\n\u2022\tAt least two pieces of evidence for the 9-11 grade band must demonstrate implementation of the
