Staying healthy and fit is important for all students and staff!
Get involved in fitness programs at Spring Garden! Sharpen the Saw!
The Mileage Club
This is an incentive based walk/run program that Mrs. Deibler organizes during recess on Monday and Tuesday. Students walk/run around a quarter mile course. When students finish a lap, they get a hole punch in their personal, lap card. Students receive tokens when they complete five, ten and fifteen miles. Students who have “toe tokens” clipped to their shoe laces have already completed five miles!!
Spring Garden Tennis Club – Look for tennis sign ups throughout the year. Currently, twenty, fourth and fifth Graders are sharpening their tennis skills on Tuesday morning from 8:20 – 9:00. Students are taught how to hit forehand, backhand, volley and serve. They also play games on modified courts and with low-bounce nerf balls. Many Spring Garden students have gone on to play in the USTA’s Rally Star League. Participants play on the outdoor tennis courts at Hanover Township Community Center.
Girls on the Run
Some girls in 4th and 5th grade participated in the Girls on the Run program twice weekly in the fall. Activities emphasized friendship, empowerment and fitness. The culmination was a 5K run at DeSales College. Miss Dowches and Miss Gregoris were mentors for this special program.
