BASD Nation is for alumni, community members, businesses, students, staff, retirees, parents and supporters of the Bethlehem Area School District. As a part of the BASD Nation, you know how important the student experience at Bethlehem Area School District is in shaping the future of our community.

A quick and easy way to support the students and staff of the Bethlehem Area School District is to make a financial gift. Financial gifts to The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District (also known as the Bethlehem Area Education Foundation), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, make a difference for current and future BASD students providing opportunities to enhance the traditional curriculum that are not otherwise possible.

Support our Mission: To support the learning success of Bethlehem Area School District students, our board has set an ambitious goal of raising $300,000 for the 2020/2021 school year. Your contribution will make a significant difference in the lives for these students. Each donation will directly benefit the students and teachers of the Bethlehem Area School District. The committed areas of support include the following programs and initiatives:

  • NEW – Digital BASD Initiative, an expansion of BASD WiFi for ALL
  • NEW – Mental Health Initiative
  • NEW – Anti-Racism Initiative
  • Teacher Innovation Grants
  • Service-Learning Grants
  • Our Leaders of Tomorrow Grants
  • Engineering – Project Lead the Way
  • Biomedical Sciences – Project Lead the Way
  • Curriculum and Community Based Field Trips
  • Farm to School Program

In addition to cash donations to support our mission, there are many ways a gift can be made or planned.

Outright Gift of Cash:

This is the most common method of providing a gift. A cash gift to The Foundation may be tax-deductible. You may donate online via PayPal or you may send your donation to: The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District, P.O. Box 646, Bethlehem, PA 18106

Matching Gifts:

Many employers will match charitable contributions made by their employees and retirees. If your company has a matching gift program, you could double or possibly triple your gift quickly and easily.

United Way Gifts:

If you contribute to United Way, you can designate your contribution to The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District.

In-Kind Gifts:

Contributions of goods or services to The Foundation can provide an ideal opportunity for both the donor and the recipient.

Tribute Gifts:

As an expression of thanks, recognize and honor the work of a favorite BASD teacher, counselor, secretary, nurse, bus driver, teacher aide, principal, or other district employee with a gift to The Foundation.

Memorial Gifts:

Honor the memory of a loved one or someone special by making a memorial gift or designate The Foundation for donations for lieu of flowers.

Bequests & Planned Gifts:

You can leave a legacy with a planned gift by making The Foundation part of your estate plan, as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, or life insurance policy. There are many types of planned gifts that you can discuss with your personal financial planner.

PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit:

Qualifying businesses can use Pennsylvania’s Education Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) to redirect their state taxes to expand on educational opportunities through curriculum enhancement and innovative academic programs that are aligned to state standards. It’s a terrific, nearly cost-free opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students.
