Welcome to Calypso, your community school! Calypso is a small neighborhood school with a population of about 230 students, all of whom live within a mile of the school. As a neighborhood school, in partnership with the PTC (Calypso’s parent group) and businesses in the community, we provide a wide range of programs, resources, and opportunities to our students and their families.
Calypso depends heavily on partnerships, volunteers, and donations. You can help by shopping at Giant and through Amazon Smile. Additionally, any support you can lend to the numerous fundraisers is greatly appreciated. All profits fund resources for the students at Calypso; including the recently installed playground, refreshed recess equipment, and the television in the lobby.
Please be sure that you are signed up for your child’s teacher’s Classdojo, as that is their main way of communicating with you. You will also receive communications via email, phone calls, and the occasional flier.
Finally, we are proud of our Leader in Me Lighthouse Milestone status! The Leader in Me 7 Habits enable all students to develop the skills necessary to regulate their own behavior, under the direct instruction of their teacher. We will continue to send home multiple projects that you can do as a family to deepen your understanding of the 7 Habits. We look forward to seeing your photos of these projects.
