Home / Welcome to First Grade

Dear Parents,

Welcome to first grade at Governor Wolf. We are looking forward to being your child’s teacher and getting to know you and your family this year. It is important that we keep the lines of communication open throughout the school year. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that you might have and we will plan to do the same. We’ll work together to make your child’s first-grade year a terrific one.

First grade is a year filled with fun and huge leaps in learning. First graders develop fundamental work habits, appropriate social behavior, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and of course academic skills.

Your child may wish to buy lunch in the school cafeteria. Check the school district website to find out about the mealpay plus program. Otherwise, a packed lunch works great. We will also take a snack break each afternoon. Please remember to send a small nutritious snack with your child daily.

We look forward to meeting your child on the first day of school. We also look forward to meeting you at our Open House. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Sincerely,

First Grade Team
Mrs. Gusse, Ms. George, Mrs. Meyer, and Mrs. Walters
