The ESL School-to-Work students from LHS were privileged to visit St. Luke’s Hospital on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Dr. Aldo Carmona and Humberto Ortiz shared their valuable time with the students and the entire presentation took place in an actual operating room in the Ambulatory Surgery Department.
Not only did they impart their expertise and experiences within the operating room, but they shared how critical thinking skills are a necessary and invaluable tool when prepping for each and every surgery. These are the skills and the strategies we work on within the classroom. The entire experience helped our students to make connections to when and where these strategies and skills become applicable in the real world.
