Winners! PA Shakespeare High School Shakespeare Competition 2026

Liberty won TWO awards at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival High School Shakespeare Competition held at DeSales University on March 7, 2026! The following students competed, thrice performing their monologues or partner scenes in front of adjudicators.  • Erika Broesicke (12) and Andrew Bays (12) — As You Like It Act III, Scene ii (Rosalind/Orlando) • Owen Smith (10) and Ella Sherman (11) — Hamlet Act III, Scene ii (Hamlet/Ophelia) • Jansarie Colon-Vicens (12) — Much Ado About Nothing Act IV, Scene i (Beatice) • Emma Hartzell (11) — Twelfth Night Act II, Scene ii (Viola) Erika, Andrew, and Jansarie were invited to perform their scenes at the closing showcase. Erika and Andrew won an award for Excellence in Shakespeare Performance Duo/Trio, and Liberty High School took home an Excellence in Shakespeare Performance Team Award!

Cameron Dunham placed first at Region Choir! Cam will go on to represent Liberty at the State level in April. Please be sure to congratulate him if you see him. This is a major accomplishment that reflects both his exceptional talent and dedicated hard work.

Adrianna Jemison’s artwork “Adrianna’s Self Identity” earned a Gold Key in the Regional Scholastic Art Awards.

Adrianna Jemison’s artwork “Adrianna’s Self Identity” earned a Gold Key in the Regional Scholastic Art Awards. Her work will be on display at Kutztown University from February 14 through March 1. Then, her piece will compete at the national level in New York City.


On Wednesday, September 11th, students and staff at Liberty High School gathered in remembrance of the 9/11 attacks of the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Flight 93. With music from Liberty’s bagpipes, 1st Company and the Liberty Chorus, the assembly listened to Mr. Joe Stellato, (LHS Class of 1989) recount his experiences at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks.
