For Rising 10th, 11th, & 12th Grade (Rising 9th Grade, see below) 

The information below will provide you all the tools you need to prepare for course selection for the 2024-2025 school year.  This process will begin after Thanksgiving break, and continue through the month of December.  The resources listed below will be reviewed, and should be used to prepare for this process!

  1. Program of Studies: The POS is the list of all courses offered, and their descriptions.  They are listed by department, and also by Career Pathway, and can also be found at this link on the BASD Website: https://basdwpweb.beth.k12.pa.us/programofstudies/
  2. Elective Course Offerings 2024-2025This double sided sheet is a quick reference of electives listed by department, and also by Career Pathway, and should be used with the POS to support making decisions regarding course requests.
  3. Course Selection Newsletter:  Attached here you will find the course selection newsletter with relevant information about graduation requirements, SSCs, tutoring options, class advisors, dual enrollment, Naviance, community service, career planning, high school scholars, and much more!
  4. Dual Enrollment Student Info Sheet–  This informational sheet briefly reviews dual enrollment opportunities for BASD students.  This list is constantly growing, and is not all inclusive.  We highly encourage students to pursue dual enrollment, and to continue to discuss options with their school counselors.
  5. Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School (BAVTS) Application: Please visit the BAVTS website if you are interested in learning more and applying for one of their programs. This link contains videos to the opportunities available at BAVTS.
    • Application to BAVTS should be completed during the December course selection process. Below are the links (will be added once available) to the two application types (Rotation & Specialized):
      • Rotation ApplicationThis application should be completed when students are applying for BAVTS rotation program (first year students or students changing programs – see website for more information).
      • Specialized Application This application should be completed when students are applying for one of the following programs that are not part of rotations: The Academy of Medical Science (rising seniors only – see criteria), The Academy of Applied Engineering (rising seniors only – see criteria) or Cosmetology.

For Rising 9th Grade Students (Class of 2028):

The information below will be shared with you when your school counselor visits you at your Middle School.  We will provide you all the tools you need to prepare for course selection for the 2024-2025 school year.  Course selection will occur over 2 sessions, the first to review information to prepare you for course selection & your transition to Liberty High School; and the second to choose/request courses that will complete your schedule next year.  The resources listed below will be reviewed, and should be used to prepare for this process!

LHS Course Selection WKSTThis worksheet should be used to prepare for the small group course selection session with your School Counselor.  Completion of this worksheet is helpful for you to prepare your requests.  You will receive this in hard copy during your in class course selection information session or it can be printed from the link provided.
