Home / Academics / Megan Angelo visits before the publication of her first book

Megan Angelo, a native of Quakertown, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Villanova University, visited Liberty’s communication pathway students today.

Ms. Angelo has written about television, film, women, pop culture, and motherhood for publications such as The New York Times, Glamour, Elle, The Wallstreet Journal, Marie Claire, and Slate.

Megan visited to speak to our communications pathway students about her career and her debut novel, Followers, which is set to be released on January 14th, 2020. The author told the assembled students about the path her career took – from working as a writer in New York city to writing her first book. She spoke about the need to be tough in order to take the frequent rejections, and to read as much as possible in order to become a better writer.

Ms. Angelo offered to serve as a mentor for any of the students, providing a fantastic opportunity for Liberty’s communication pathway students. After speaking to the large group, Ms. Angelo visited the journalism classes and sat for an interview with the Liberty’s Broadcasting students.
