Braving cold winds, Liberty students left the classroom at 10 am on March 14th, joining students across the country in a national protest against gun violence in our schools. In remembrance of the victims of the February 14th shooting of 17 students and staff members at Majory Stoneman Douglass High School in Parkland Florida, students left the classroom for 17 minutes. After a moment of silence and Liberty’s bagpipes playing Amazing Grace students read the names of the 17 victims from last months’ tragedy while releasing a balloon for each. After the ceremony, students returned to class.
