- This Friday is our LHS Grenadier Band & Fall Sports Preview Night! See you there!
- MORNING DROP OFF – Attention parents and guardians dropping off your children in the AM. Fairview Street and Grenadier Blvd are becoming DANGEROUS for students, staff, and families in the morning. Linden is for BUS students, Fairview is for STAFF, Grenadier and everywhere else is for STUDENTS.
- A FEW STRONG SUGGESTIONS TO HELP KEEP EVERYONE SAFE:
- If you are dropping off your child, please do so BEFORE 7:15 daily. Doors open at 7:15am and students are welcome to enter the warm and dry building.
- If you are running late and dropping off AFTER 7:15 am, I suggest you find an alternative street to drop your children off outside the perimeter of LHS roads. For example, drop your child off on Maple St, Locust, Laurel, Frankfort, Ettwein, High, Greenwich, Hottle, Montrose, of Madison Ave. (Please see the map below labeled with GREEN for suggested areas and RED for areas to avoid in the AM)
- Students CAN walk a few blocks and will be completely fine doing so. If they are concerned about being late, they should leave earlier to get to school by 7:25am.

- There are some big adjustments to LHS Student Service Centers for the 2026-27 school year…
- Our Assistant Principals are switching offices and alphabets. This doesn’t mean you will no longer have a relationship with your previous AP, it just means an additional support person during your journey at LHS.
- Liberty High School is going from 12 guidance counselors to 11 guidance counselors…What this means is there is a slight adjustment in student alphabet for GC support. Here is an overview of the adjustments and we will be meeting with you during the first week of school to introduce you to your new assistant principal and guidance counselor (not everyone’s GC has changed). This switch will start August 10th.
- PM EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY BUS – Just a reminder that 4:30 activity buses will begin operating on Monday, August 31st. Please share this information with your building personnel to ensure everyone is aware of the schedule. There is no longer a 5:15pm activity bus due to low ridership per Transportation.
- ParentSquare – BASD is shifting from ClassDojo (K-5 only) to ParentSquare (K-12) as our school/staff/family communication tool. It gives schools a “teacher to family” texting capabilities! Be on the lookout for information coming from the District Office in August regarding the ParentSquare app/website and how to sign up.

We are excited to welcome our incoming 9th-grade students and NEW students (any grade) to Liberty High School for our student “Welcome Orientation!” Please join us on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Students will have the opportunity to tour the building, meet staff, and get ready for the year ahead. Buses are provided for all bus students. *Please see the attached family letter along with bus pick-up/stop information* Families are also invited to return at 6:00 PM for an evening session with additional information about life at Liberty High School. *Student Services/Guidance Updates*
- Your class schedule for the upcoming school year will be available to view in Synergy starting Monday, August 17.
- Please log in and carefully review your schedule to ensure the following criteria are met:
- Core Courses: You are scheduled for all required core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, etc.).
- Course Levels: Your course levels match your selections (e.g., AP vs. Honors).
- Complete Schedule: You have a course assigned for every marking period.
- Electives: You are scheduled for at least one of your priority electives.
- Balanced Schedule: Your schedule is balanced (ideally no more than two core courses per semester, unless you’re doubling up).
- CRITICAL NOTE ON SCHEDULE CHANGES
- This is NOT a window to request new electives or change your mind about your classes.
- The courses on your schedule reflect the choices you made during course selection and confirmed during the June 15–30 correction window. Those choices are final.
- Counselors will only fix objective schedule errors (such as missing a required core class, an incomplete period, or an incorrect placement level like AP vs. Honors). Requests based on changed preferences will not be honored.

- September 11, 2026 “The Climb” Event – Liberty & Freedom are joining forces to honor the heroes and victims of the tragic terrorist attack 25 years ago. “9/11 – THE CLIMB” is a way for Freedom/Liberty High Schools to come together to honor and remember the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. Through this symbolic stair climb, students and staff will reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness displayed that day while raising funds to support organizations that continue to serve our nation’s heroes. The event will be held at Liberty High School during the school day and students are able to donate to participate ($10) in this special event via HomeTown ticketing.
- Synergy ParentVUE – Synergy is being updated to version 2027 on Sunday, 8/2, starting at 4 pm.

- Once Synergy is updated, anyone using the current ParentVUE or StudentVUE app will need to update it to keep accessing information.

- Starting at 4 PM today, parents and students will be prompted to update ParentVUE and StudentVUE as soon as they log into the current version of the app. Instructions are linked above and on the BASD website in the Frequently Asked Questions for ParentVUE section under “Why can’t I see my child’s information in ParentVUE?“
- Personal Device Use VS District-Issued Chromebooks:

- To ensure network security and consistent access to classroom tools, please remember that personal devices/computers are strictly prohibited per district policy.
- All students must use their District-issued Chromebooks. According to the BASD EMPOWER FAQ, personal devices are not permitted to interact with District systems.
- Teachers are required to report personal device use to the office. Assistant Principals will follow up on these reports to ensure compliance.
- If you have technical issues with your school Chromebook, please visit the Library immediately for assistance.
- LHS Preschool Lab has openings for the 2026-2027 school year. If you have a child 3-5 years old and would like to enroll them in our FREE preschool program, contact Mrs. Engler at kengler@basdschools.org for more information.
*Health Room Updates*
Please print, sign, and return the required forms below for 26-27 School Year:
- Standing Order Parent Consent (ie. if your child takes medication and/or requests Tylenol at school)
- Student Health Update Form
Medications in School:
Please remember that students are not allowed to carry medications on their person unless they have a doctor’s note and it has been approved by the school nurse. This includes asthma inhalers and EpiPens. Please have your child’s doctor complete the Authorization for Medication During School Hours and return to the health room with a parent signature.
Medical Conditions:
Please remember to update the school nurses on any medical conditions your child has that may affect their ability to learn. This helps us to ensure that students are receiving the necessary care in school to achieve academic success.
Donations:
Please consider donating snacks (i.e., pretzels, saltine crackers, gluten-free, etc.) and drinks (i.e., water bottles and juice boxes) to the health room. We thank you, in advance, for your generosity!
Immunization Exclusion Day for 26-27 School Year – Monday 8/31/26 is the exclusion day for high school students who are deficient with their immunization requirements. You will receive a phone message TODAY from Mr. Horlick if your child is impacted by this. Please see the flyer below for more information.
