Nitschmann Middle School will meet and go to Blue Mountain Ski Area on the following 5 Mondays: 1/6/20, 1/13/20, 1/27/20, 2/3/20, 2/10/20.
We welcome all students (Grades 6-8) to join the Nitschmann Middle School Ski/Snowboard Club for our 2020 season. This is a great way for students to get involved and explore a new life-long sport! In addition, this makes a great holiday gift to get your child outside during the winter months!

You are responsible to purchase your child’s ticket. You may also choose to purchase transportation, equipment rental, or lessons. You must sign up on the portal website by October 31, 2019, to receive 6 visits for the prices above. Bus transportation will be available for Nitschmann Middle School students. You must pay for transportation when you purchase your tickets online from Blue Mountain Ski Area. Mr. Downey, club advisor, will be on the bus to and from school. The bus will leave Nitschmann at 3:10 pm and return at 8:45 pm. Please be prompt to pick up!
Students are responsible for their own gear and equipment. Equipment can be rented from Blue Mountain Ski Area. Students who have their own gear will bring ski gear to school on Monday morning at the gymnasium entrance starting at 7:30. It will be stored in the locked gymnasium storage area for the day.
Students are responsible for their Blue Mountain Ski Area pass/ticket. If your child loses it, you are responsible for the $10 replacement cost.
In the event that BASD is closed or has an early dismissal due to inclement weather, our club night will be postponed. We will send message updates through the BASD app, Nitschmann’s social media sites, and text updates. (To receive text message updates about ski club— text @skiclubni to 81010)
Ski & Snowboard lessons will begin at 5:00 pm. We recommend that all students who have skied or snowboarded 3 times or less to take lessons to strengthen their independent skills.
Lockers are available at Blue Mountain Ski Area. Small lockers are $3, and medium lockers are $6 with unlimited access. Students purchase these weekly on their own.
We want Nitschmann Middle School to stick together and ski safely. Our group adults will be located by the Lower Lodge counter with a Nitschmann sign. Hot cocoa is available most nights at our group table. We welcome parents to join us, help out, and even bring some snacks for our students. Email Mr. Downey if you can help.
