BASD eNews:

TO BASD FAMILIES FROM THE INFORMATION & TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Dear Parents/Guardians,

An upcoming change to some of the websites you currently use to access your child’s academic information will change this summer.

BASD currently uses eSchoolPlus and Home Access Center as its Student Information System.  After thoughtful consideration, BASD will be transitioning to a new system called Synergy.    This change is part of the District’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance communication between our schools, parents, and students.

Parents and students need to be aware of the following dates and guidelines as we make this transition.

  • Sunday, June 30, 2024eSchoolPlus, Home Access Center, and Registration Gateway  will be permanently taken offline.
    • You will no longer use Home Access Center for accessing or interacting with your child’s academic information and you will no longer use Registration Gateway to enroll a child online or make annual updates.
  • Monday, July 22, 2024:    BASD begins using Synergy, its new SIS.  After this date:
    • Parents/Guardians will use ParentVUE to access their child’s academic information.
    • Students will use StudentVUE to access their academic information.
    • Parents/Guardians will use Synergy’s Online Registration to enroll a child online.

In the coming weeks, the District will provide detailed instructions on how to set up your new account for Synergy ParentVUE.

BASD will continue using Schoology as its learning management system (LMS) for grades 6-12.  The district’s new Synergy SIS will work with the Schoology platform.

Change can sometimes be challenging, but we are confident this transition will ultimately benefit you and your child. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to implement these improvements.

Thank you for your continued support of the District and your child’s education. If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school.

Vaccinations

Hello, parents of Broughal Middle School rising 6th graders! By now you should have received paperwork from the school nurses regarding the mandatory vaccines for 7th graders. Now is the time to make sure your student has the necessary immunizations before the start of school in August or they will not be able to attend.

If you do not have insurance, or have Medicaid, you may be eligible to have your child vaccinated at school before the end of this year. You can contact the school nurse at (Insert school number because I forgot) and they will send a consent form home with the student. The deadline to return these forms is May 13th.

Attention 6th and 7th-grade parents –  BASD will not be offering vaccination clinics at the end of the year or for back-to-school for the 24-25 school year. BASD will be strictly adhering to the PA School Health Immunization Law for 2017 which states that students who do not have or provide proof of TDAP, MCV4 vaccines before the 1st day of school, will not be able to start school.  Please contact the Nurse’s Office at Broughal or the Bethlehem Area School District Health Services Director – Dr. Kim Zsitek-Brannan (kzsitekbrannan@basdschools.org)
