- In preparation for collecting data for the needs assessment of Broughal’s CSI school plan, PDE provides schools with stakeholder surveys to capture the voices of educators, students, and parents/guardians.
- Each CSI school has unique survey links that allow the appropriate data to be attributed back to the school for analysis.

AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS AVAILABLE! I hope you’re doing well! We currently have open spots available in several afterschool clubs and would love your help in encouraging students to sign up. These clubs provide a great opportunity for students to explore new interests, build skills, and engage with their peers in a fun and supportive environment.
Here are the available clubs, their meeting times, and details:
Lehigh Homework Club – Meets Monday through Thursday, 3:15–4:30 PM
Mission Kindness – Meets on Tuesdays, 3:15–4:30 PM
Community Bike Works – Starting March 3rd, meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 3:15–4:30 PM
ArtSmart – Meets on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:15–4:30 PM
Free bus transportation home is available for students who participate!
If you know any students who might benefit from or be interested in joining, please encourage them to sign up! You can also email Ms. Emily for any additional information. We have permission slips outside of the family center hallway.
Broughal Middle School teachers and staff will now be using TALKING POINTS – A school to family texting app! Research shows that school-family texting apps have great results on improved attendance and student achievement! Hopefully you will see a difference in communicating with your child’s team at school. PLEASE download the app!

Team ESU:
- Mrs Conkle/ELA: Students will analyze a poem called “Elena.” We are also preparing for the PSSA’s.
- Mrs. Harclerode/ESOL: We are going to start a new story in StudySync “A Role to Play”. Students will be working on the story vocabulary words, will do an initial reading, close read and make inferences.
- Mr. Schomaker/SS: In Mr. Schomaker social studies class, students will be completing the research for their Egypt Project and will then start designing their group presentations. We hope to start our presentations to the class by the end of the week.
- Ms. Lando/Math: Continuing Unit 6 with a Quiz on Wednesday and talking about Exponents.
- Mr Lyons/Science: Continuing to collect evidence to prove the theory of plate tectonics.
