SENIOR PICTURE DEADLINE FAST APPROACHING: The deadline for senior portraits is fast approaching. If you did not already have your picture taken by Christmas City Studio, you must schedule and have your pictures taken before Friday, February 28 in order to appear in the 2020 yearbook.  Please contact them ASAP to schedule your appt. by calling 610.691.2109 or by booking an appointment on line at http://www.christmascitystudio.com. If transportation is an issue and you cannot get to the studio, Christmas City Studio will be here at Liberty after the New Year. More information to follow. Any questions, please see Mrs. Gilliard in Rm. 001.

Attention Seniors – Liberty High School has a Free Application for Federal Aid (FASFA) completion night on Tues. Oct. 29.  Northampton Community College financial aid staff will be at Liberty to assist parents and students to complete the FAFSA. Space is limited, so you or your parent MUST call and make an appointment with Mrs Abboud in SSC 112. Please see your counselor or check your email for more information, there are NECESSARY items you would need to bring.

 Winter Sports Physicals  – Tuesday, October 29th, from 5 – 7:00 pm in the Aux Gym and it’s FREE.  See Mrs. Guzman in the athletic office for further details.

Boys Basketball: A mandatory meeting for anyone who is interested in trying out for boys basketball will be on Thurs, Oct 24 in the Auxiliary Gym at 2:45 pm.  The meeting will cover open gyms, physicals, and try-out information.  If you cannot attend the meeting, see Coach Landis after Thursday to get a schedule.

Seniors– Dues must be paid to attend the senior breakfast. Always check your BASD email for information regarding upcoming events. See Ms. Halper or Miss Michael with questions!

Lanta Bus Passes – Are available for purchase in the Coffee Shop $1 each.

Attention all juniors and seniors:  It is college rep visit time!  Please go into your Naviance account and look at all the college representatives that will be visiting Liberty this fall.  

Indoor Track and Field – Meeting for any students interested in joining the Indoor Track and Field team on Thurs. Oct. 17 in the Auditorium at 3pm.  Please make every effort to attend this meeting.  In the chance you cannot make it please see Coach D’Emilio in Rm.848 during first, second, or third block or the Equipment Room during 4th block and after school.  Coach Messa and D’Emilio look forward to seeing you!

After-school Library Program –The program is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The hours are from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please report to the library by 2:45 p.m. and the maximum capacity is 30 students.

PSAT TestingThe test will be administered at Liberty on Saturday, October 19th.  See your counselor ASAP if you have special circumstances prohibiting you from taking this.


Clubs & Organizations

Art Club – Meeting Tues. Oct. 22 in Room 202 at 2:30 PM. Bake Sale Prep Day.

Psychology Club Field Trip– The Psychology Club is headed to NYC to see the Broadway play “The Sound Inside.” Any student who has had Psychology as a course in the past, or is taking it in the Spring, can sign up to participate in the field trip. See Dr. Draper in 830 KCC for the details!

Latin Ballroom Club – You will find us in the AMP on our scheduled Thursdays from 2:35 – 3:30. Hope to see you there!

BOWLING CLUB – Bowling Tues. Oct. 22.  Please pick up your permission slip, which MUST be returned, in order to bowl.   Looking forward to seeing you!

Recycling for Sustainability – Meets every day after school in Rm. 507. 1 hour of community service is offered.

Social Justice Club – Meeting every Tuesday in Rm. 305 immediately after school.

Chess Team –-Tryouts will be held in Rm. 824 after school on Wednesdays and Fridays through the middle of October.

Homework Club – Rm. 331.  Every Tues., Wed., and Thurs. until 3:45, thereafter.  Must sign in before 2:45 to participate.


HOBY – is hosting their State Leadership Seminar for Outstanding Sophomores in June 2020. Dates and University TBA. One student will be selected to attend a fun, interactive leadership training where they will meet state leaders and CEO’s. Experience life on a University campus, learn how you can be an impactful youth leader, and much more! Essays must be submitted by November 1st. Great opportunity for Students interested in  the STEM Field : STRIVE’s STEM Leadership Program begins in October

The FREE program is for high school students in the Lehigh Valley, and it provides them with hands-on STEM training, opportunities for leadership development, and exposure to professionals and college students who help them to begin thinking about their future career. 

When: Wednesdays from 4-6:30PM, October 2 – June 3 .       Where: Lehigh University 

How to Pre-Register

2019-2020 Exploring Posts   Is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 14 – 20.The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields
