SOPHOMORES – Time to pay your class dues!  Mrs. Bieber will be collecting dues and providing receipts after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Dues are $30 per year.  Please pay with a check made out to Liberty High School Class of 2022.  Dues must be current to attend the prom!

Multi-Cultural Leadership Conference – has been cancelled for this Sat. Mar. 14, 2020.

Special Olympics – Any student interested in being a Special Olympic track and field volunteer please stop by Rm. 505 to pick up your form. The COMPLETED form signed by your teachers and assistant principal and $6 will be turned into Mrs. Prodes in Rm. 505. 

Deadline is Fri. April 3rd or when all spots are filled.

The Student Service Centers would like to remind seniors that there are many scholarship opportunities available. Please log in to Naviance Student and start applying today! Deadlines are approaching! Check out the scholarships that we have available to our students.

After-school Library Program –The program is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The hours are from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please report to the library by 2:45 p.m. and the maximum capacity is 30 students.

COMMUNITY SERVICE REMINDER: Seniors graduation is approaching, make sure that you have completed 60 hours of community service AND silver cord hours by the Deadline: April 10, 2020. 

Clubs & Organizations

BOWLING CLUB – Consider joining the BASD High School Bowling Club for a great, inexpensive activity. Meets every Tuesday after school in Rm. 403 for transport to the lanes. All welcome, please have your signed permission form on file before bowling.

Recycling for Sustainability – Meets every day after school in Rm. 507. 1 hour of community service is offered.

Social Justice Club – Meeting every Tuesday in Rm. 305 immediately after school.

Homework Club – Rm. 331.  Every Tues., Wed., and Thurs. until 3:45, thereafter.  Must sign in before 2:45 to participate.


Lehigh University HS Scholars ProgramThe application for the Fall 2020 High School Scholars Program at Lehigh University is now open! The selected students will be able to enroll in one class at Lehigh in the fall with tuition cost covered by the High School Scholars program. Students will be responsible for any course materials, course fees, etc. Successful completion of the fall semester would allow a student to be eligible for re-enrollment during the Spring 2021 semester. The deadline for submission is Friday, April 17th by 5:00pm. If interested please see your Guidance Counselor for the application. Good Luck!

Northampton Community College “Instant Decision Day” – Representatives will be at Liberty High School on Friday, March 27, 2020 to review student applications.  Sign up with Northampton Community College via Naviance, Bring a completed paper admissions application to the appointment. The application fee will be waived!  Obtain a copy of your high school transcript from your SSC to bring to the appointment, Provide a hard copy of your SAT/ACT scores, if available. Note: Screenshots of your scores are acceptable. If you have any questions, please see your School Counselor or Mrs. Litak in SSC 800.

The Futuros Empresarios – (FE) program is seeking 10th and 11th grade Latino students interested in a 5-week summer entrepreneurial training program that includes a paid internship with local business and organizations. This program is available at no cost to participating students. Interning while in high school is a fantastic way to obtain real world experience before heading off to college. Many high school students use internships as a strategy in deciding their college major, bolstering their college applications, and gaining experience to better prepare in landing that college internship.  Please hand in your completed application by March 26.

Guidance Inspiration Award:   Seniors majoring in helping field:  Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Nursing majors are invited to apply.  See your counselor for details. Deadline is March 1, 2020. 

Pop UP Prom Shop – ArtsQuest at Steel Stacks – Sat. March 7 from 9am-1:30pm. All dresses $15.  Open to all high school Juniors & Seniors. See website for details www.ywcabethlehem.org

Wind Creek Resort – Hosting a job fair on Wed. Jan. 29 from 11am-8pm. Liberty Guidance is able to take 20 students to this event, first come first serve. Permission slips to go on this trip can be picked up from Mr. Uhler in SSC 400 and must be returned no later than January 27th.

These are formerly known as the Pennsylvania Governor’s Schools and offer 3 exciting opportunities this year.  These programs are highly competitive but awesome opportunities for students who want to challenge themselves intellectually and socially with impactful leadership workshops and dynamic learning opportunities within the respective college programs.

HOBY – is hosting their State Leadership Seminar for Outstanding Sophomores in June 2020. Dates and University TBA. One student will be selected to attend a fun, interactive leadership training where they will meet state leaders and CEO’s. Experience life on a University campus, learn how you can be an impactful youth leader, and much more! Essays must be submitted by November 1st. Great opportunity for Students interested in  the STEM Field : STRIVE’s STEM Leadership Program begins in October

The FREE program is for high school students in the Lehigh Valley, and it provides them with hands-on STEM training, opportunities for leadership development, and exposure to professionals and college students who help them to begin thinking about their future career. 

When: Wednesdays from 4-6:30PM, October 2 – June 3 .       Where: Lehigh University 

How to Pre-Register

2019-2020 Exploring Posts   Is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 14 – 20.The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields
