February is Black History Month Black History is American history, and this month is a chance for all of us to learn, reflect, and celebrate 100 years together. 

Black History Month Spirit Week – Mon 2/23 – Fri 2/27 

    • 23rd- HBCU/College Day (wear college colors)
    • 24th- Family Reunion (Cookout attire/BBQ Dad)
    • 25th- Culture day (Rep Flag/Wear Cultural Attire)
    • 26th- Sundays Best (Church attire/ Dress clothes)
    • 27th- Ruby Bridges Walk to school day (wear purple in her honor)

, 2026 to Guidance Office

We are now accepting scholarship applications for the 2026-2027 college academic year from female high school seniors at Liberty and Freedom High Schools in Bethlehem and at William Allen and Louis E. Dieruff High Schools in Allentown. The Scholarship Committee will review the applications in February and March to determine the awards. High school students must have applied to an accredited two-year or four-year undergraduate program at a college, university or vocational school when filling out the application form and will only receive a scholarship if accepted by the school. See separate cover page for High School Seniors Scholarship Application Guidelines.

We are also accepting scholarship applications for the spring 2026 college academic semester and the fall 2026 college academic semester from adult female residents of the Lehigh Valley who have had their studies interrupted before obtaining their degreeSee separate cover page for Non-Traditional Study Grant Application Guidelines. Scholarships are based on academic promise and financial need. Applications from adult female students who have been accepted into a college or technical school undergraduate or graduate program will be reviewed upon receipt and awarded when needed.


Career Pathways and Service Learning Fair The Career Pathways and Service Learning Fair for 11th grade students will be hosted in the morning on Tuesday, February 24th. This is an opportunity for students to interact with community business leaders to assist in connecting their passion and purpose with achievable goals for their career interest. All 11th grade students are expected to attend and teachers will notify you on when you will attend the fair. Please email Mr. Uhler with any questions you have about the fair.


Senior Portraits – Deadline at Christmas City Studio is Friday Mar 13, 2026. If you are unable to have your photo taken at the studio, a limited number of sessions will be available at Liberty on Tuesday, February 3rd and Thursday, March 5th for your yearbook pose and cap and gown ONLY.


National Honor Society  Blood Drive   National Honor Society is partnering with Miller-Keystone Blood Center to host a Blood Drive in the Memorial Gym on Wednesday February 18th.  If you are 16 years or older and interested in donating, you can sign up during lunch or by using the posters displayed around the building.Your donation can help save lives—please consider signing up!

Physical Dates and details:

The Spring Track & Field  The Spring Track & Field team will be holding a team meeting in the Cafeteria on  Tuesday February 17th at 2:50pm. Anyone interested in joining the spring track team should attend! If you are interested in being a team manager and assisting the team with daily operations,  Please contact Coach Darr!


 

AAPI Club  bake sale The AAPI club is hosting a bake sale to celebrate Lunar New Year  on February 17th  Blocks 1,2 & 3 .  Stop by for some homemade and traditional goods.

Debate Team   The Debate Team will be warming up for the Spring season, and we’re inviting you to come for open debates! We’ll be meeting on Thursdays, at 2:45 in room 860 in the KCC. The team will choose debate topics, and the format will vary based on the number of participants and the topic. If you’re interested in attending and flexing those debating and argument skills, just stop by room 860 on Thursday after school! Follow us on Instagram @lhs_debate_team for more details.”

Model UN  – The Model UN Team will be meeting right after school on both this Tuesday and Thursday in Room 334. Current members should plan on attending at least one of the meetings. New members are welcome to attend one or both of the meetings as well.

NAACP     Next meeting is Monday, 2/23/26 at 2:45 pm in room 104. Any questions, please see Mrs. Guzman in the athletic office.  

LHS Future Medical Professionals Club: Our next Meeting is on Thursday, Feb 26th, after school, 2:45-3:45pm in Lab Center Room 414. Guest Speaker: Our guest speaker is Dr. Courtney Moore, MD from LVHN-Cedar Crest, an Associate Chief Medical Officer and physician in Hospital Medicine. If there are any questions, email Dr. K @ skeshodkar@basdschools.org or see her in room 414.

The 2026 Liberty High School Yearbook themed, “Rewind” is now on sale.

 The yearbook will only be on sale now through May 1, 2026. 

    Please see the order form attached below. If you order at the school, you can take advantage of our payment plan. Books can be ordered by mailing your check or money order to the school, dropping it off in room 001, or ordering through our online ordering system through Varsity Yearbook (link below).
