The PA-SAP process helps to identify barriers to learning that students experience. Drug and alcohol use, mental health concerns, peer/family concerns, and academic/attendance issues all fall under the SAP umbrella, and may require additional supports in order to enhance students’ success in school. Referring a student to the PA-SAP process ensures appropriate actions will be taken to identify potential barriers to learning, and, when necessary, resources will be provided for the student.
