2019_Back to School Mailing Letter

Dear Parents & Guardians of Nitschmann Middle School students,
In just a few short days, we will be welcoming your children to Nitschmann Middle School for the 2019-2020 school year! Our faculty & staff are very excited to begin our school year on the First Day of School on Monday, August 26, 2019. Please note on the First Day of School, 6th grade will begin at 8:05 am, and 7th & 8th grade will start on a 3-hour delay at 11:05 am to allow for the 6th-grade orientation. Bus information will follow in US Mail from the BASD Transportation Department just before school begins.
Included with this mailing is a tentative copy of your child’s academic schedule for the 2019-2020 school year. Please carefully review your child’s schedule and the accompanying information on the reverse of this letter.
Please make sure the Student Services Office has your updated email address before the start of school. We use email frequently to communicate important information and weekly updates, rather than sending papers home with your child. Please email our Guidance Secretary Mrs. Scott at sscott@basdschools.org with your name, your child’s name, and your updated email.
Please remember to check our school website & social media sites for the 2019-2020 supply lists that your child will need for the first day of school.
Please read our Sunday Weekly Information, available through email, our website, social media sites, and the Bethlehem Area School District app for information about the start of school and school calendar.
Please mark your calendars for our Open House Walkthrough Night on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. This is a great evening to meet new families, walk around the school with your child, and get answers to some of your last-minute questions. We will begin in the Auditorium promptly at 7 pm.
Please mark your calendars for our Annual Back to School Night on Monday, September 16, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. Please plan on attending to meet your child’s team of teachers and participate in a preview of the 2019-2020 school year,
As the new school year approaches, our expectations and hopes are very high for your child. Our school staff is looking forward to working collaboratively with you to make sure your child has a positive and rewarding school year.
