BASD Covid Mitigation Level – Tier 3 (Universal masking for all students & staff, grades PreK-12)
- Start of School Important Dates (PLEASE check the NMS Calendar on the BASD Website – we ALWAYS post to this site first rather than send home a paper calendar!)
- Evening Walk-Through on Thursday 8/26 from 6:30pm-8:00pm. We invite all families to join us in the auditorium for a quick welcome by Dr. Mayes & Mrs. Woodson, then time to explore the school building prior to the first day of school. No sign ups needed for this event – new families should come at 6:30pm for the introduction, all others between 7pm-8pm. Masks are required inside of Nitschmann Middle School for everyone.
- First Day of School 8/30 (6th Graders report at 8:05am, 7th & 8th Graders report at 11:05am). Review our Welcome Back Letter when posted with your child’s schedule for more information. 6th Grade Orientation will be held during the morning of the first day of school. Masks are required inside of Nitschmann Middle School for everyone.
- Registration Gateway Back-To-School Portal – The Back-To-School Portal is now open for all parents to complete. All parents must complete the Back-To-School Portal even if they do not have changes to their child’s information. There are a number of items parents need to review related to information from the district on the portal. The annual letter regarding the Back To School portal, Home Access Center, etc. is in the process of being sent via mail. This will provide you the credentials to login into these systems. There has been a change from last year regarding the password for Registration Gateway.
- Home Access Center – You can use your BASD login information to view your child’s schedule & bussing information. Directions are posted on the BASD website.
- Grading Rx Survey – The district is preparing for a change in the way we approach grading. Please participate in our BASD district-wide survey about your opinions about grading & homework. Click the link! GradingRx survey

NIMAS INFORMATION
UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION NIGHT (BAND)
An email with a Google form for Uniform Distribution Night (marching band members only) has been sent to you. Your responses are due by Sunday night so we can update your account for UDN. This is the link in case you can’t find the email. https://forms.gle/AC24XP29uZSuPDfJ9
Your responses on the form will be used to create financial obligations on your Cut Time profile to provide you the ability to pay for your items in advance. You can also pay by check on UDN. If you are paying by check, make the check payable to NIMAS.
Please complete the form even if you are unable to attend on August 23 as the information will still be added to your Cut Time profile.

PARENT VOLUNTEER ID SHIRTS
If you plan to volunteer or just want to support the band with NMS band wear, complete the form below to order a blue ID shirt. Please use a for each individual order. Parent volunteers need a blue ID shirt for public events such as parades, bingos, jazz fests, etc. to identify them as volunteers with the organization. If you already have an ID shirt you do not need a new one.
The cost of the shirt will be added to your Cut Time parent account under financial obligations.You can pay by credit or debit card using Cut Time or send in a check with your name (so it matches the shirt order). If you are paying by check, please make the check payable to NIMAS.

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
FALL MUM FLOWER SALE – ORDER FORM
We will be working with Lehigh Valley Home and Garden Center for our plant fundraiser. We are offering a wonderful variety of fall mums. If you’ve ordered from LVHGC before, you know their products are BEAUTIFUL!
Please take orders on the back of this sheet. On the bottom, please record your totals. Return the bottom portion only of this sheet and your money due by Friday, September 3rd. We would like one check or cash per complete order. Checks can be made out to NIMAS. Late orders will not be accepted. Return all orders to the box in Mr. Zettlemoyer’s room. A $2.75 profit is made on each plant sold and will be added to your student’s fair share account.
Pick-up will be Monday, September 20th from 4:30-6 PM at NMS. It is VERY important you remember to pick up your order. Please be prompt. We cannot “save” plants.
