Parent & Student Weekly Email
Nitschmann Middle School Weekly Update, Home of the Nitschmann Nation!
Sunday, May 9, 2021, to Sunday, May 16, 2021
- Bring Chromebook Chargers Daily! All students should be bringing their Chromebook chargers WITH THEM to school on their hybrid days. We expect students to charge their laptops at night, but we know sometimes this gets missed. We do not have extra chargers, so students are able to plug in if they need to. They need these daily!
- July Summer Programs! Nitschmann will be hosting several summer programs in July and August to help our students after this long school year. We will be hosting several week-long day camps between July 12 and 30, connected to our favorite activities, to help students reconnect with school for the 2021-2022 school year. Sign-ups will begin this week!

Core & Encore Team Updates
Team Lafayette (6th) (Twitter @NMSLafayette Team Leader Mrs. Hackman) Our Greek unit has begun, and we are setting up group projects and activities to learn more about Ancient Greece. We are continuing our work on sustainability in Science. As the weather continues to improve, students should be continuing to prioritize their assignments, then get to enjoying their outside time. Many students are discussing their sports practices and games in class, and it is great to hear so many of them enjoying their time reconnecting to activities they love but lost last year.
Team Lehigh (6th) (Twitter @NMSTeamLehigh/ Facebook @NitschmannTeamLehigh Team Leader Mrs. Oliver)
Congratulations to Ava Danch, Christina Bozakis, Leila Matejcek, Brammel Mari, and Roberto Nieto for earning our Mountain Hawk Spotlight Award this week. This is an award that Lehigh teachers give to students who soar above the rest! Students earn a certificate and are recognized at our team celebrations. Way to go – we are proud of you for leading the way for our team!
Sadly, this week we had to say goodbye to Mrs. Oliver’s Student teacher, Miss Christine Yacoub. We all wish her well in her future teaching career. She is going to be great!!!!
The 4th marking period mid-quarter is right around the corner. Log into schoology, check your grade report for missing assignments and/or assignments that need to be remediated, and take care of business. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Walk, do not run to the finish line. Take your time, pay attention to the task at hand. There is still learning and work to be done. Follow the daily routine. Log into Schoology, look for and complete the daily assignments posted by your teachers for each of your classes. Finish Strong. We Got This!!!
Team Moravian (6th) – (Twitter @NMSTeam Moravian/Facebook@NMSTeamMoravian Team Leader Mrs. Roufakis)
Congratulations to our Pride of the Lions: Judith Caine and Sadie Sedlock. Great job!!
