AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS & DRAMA:

  • Tues, Jan 30th: a singing and dancing rehearsal for all Mattress cast members from 3:10-5 PM
  • Wed, Jan 31st:  All Boys Group and NE Singers boys will rehearse from 3:10-4 PM
  • Thurs, Feb 1st:  Mattress rehearsal from 3:10-5 PM for Scenes 5 and 7: this is for Winnifred, Jester, Dauntless, Minstrel, King, Ladies-in-Waiting, Larken, and Harry
  • Sat, Feb 3rd: Prologue to Scene 4 All cast reports at 9 AM until noon

SPORTS PHYSICALSAttention any 7th or 8th grade student interested in playing soccer or softball for Northeast this Spring: You must have a sports physical in order to try-out for the Spring sports teams.  If you have not had a sports physical this school year, there will be free sports physicals available. Spring Sports Physicals dates and locations are as follows:

  • Liberty High School – 2/8/18 – Auxiliary Gym –  5:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Cost: FREE
  • Freedom High School – 2/13/18 – Main Gym – 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Cost: FREE

See Mr. Korcienski, Mrs. Jewell, or Mr. Spieker if you have any questions. 

SOCCER: Attention all Northeast Soccer Players. There will an information meeting this Tuesday Jan. 30th. This will be during Activity period. The meeting will be held down in the Cafeteria. If you have any questions please see Coach Spieker in room A108.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Congratulations to the boy’s varsity basketball team on their win at Lower Mac last night.  Both Varsity and JV play at home on Wednesday against Raub Middle School and then Harrison Morton Middle School on Thursday. Reminder to all boy’s basketball players that practice starts today at 3:25.  Don’t be late or you will be running!

GIRLS BASKETBALL: The Girls basketball team played Lower Macungie Middle last night. Winning was not in the cards, but they were both amazing defensive games. Every game we see you ladies play you just get better and better. Team work Is what we are made of ladies Remember, defensive wins games ! Always proud of the sisterhood of hustle and heart!!!!

WORLD LANGUAGE CLUBThe next World Language Club meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 7th in Madame Johnson’s French room B202 after school until 4:25pm. We will be learning about Mardis Gras and Karneval. Hope to see you there!

FUNDRAISERNortheast has accepted the challenge of helping to find a cure for Blood Cancer! We are joining the 3 other Bethlehem middle schools, Liberty and Freedom high school, and over 27,000 schools across the nation to make a difference and raise as much money as we can for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! From now until February 16th our school will be working to reach a goal of $1,000. If our school raises over $750, the homeroom that raises the most money will get an Olive Garden lunch! Check the community school bulletin board outside the cafeteria every Monday for updates on our progress.

*Hello. I’m Hailey Wilson and I’m Nyra Nieves. We are from Leaders Rock and we’re doing a project. Hey sixth graders, can you help? Can you write a pen pal letter to encourage kids that are struggling with cancer? There are 10,590 children ages 1-14 years old that have been diagnosed with cancer already this year. Teachers, please be ready for us to collect them on February 2nd. Thank you!

*Join David, Omar, Nelson, Shaaron, and Alexis in helping Puerto Rico in its time for crisis. They are holding a fundraiser at Town & Country Lanes on February 10th from 12:30-2:30pm.  You can buy a 12$ ticket which will get you 2 hours of bowling and a shoe rental. For questions contact adtorres@basdschools.org and for tickets see David Broczkowski in A212. There will also be a basket raffle for 1$ per ticket or 3$ for 5 tickets. There are 144 tickets so get your spot now! We hope to see you there!

STOMP SHOWThe Northeast Stomp Show is THIS FRIDAY!  It is on Friday, February 2nd. It is the Lehigh Valley’s biggest hip hop dance and step team show!  Tickets are on sale during lunch and they are $8.  Your ticket price includes a coupon for a delicious hotdog!  You can buy the tickets during lunch. Don’t let the show sell out!

GIRL SCOUTSThe girl scouts will be meeting every Friday from 3:10-4:05pm until April 6th.

TECH GIRLSAttention 6th and 7th grade girls! In partnership with the YWCA, Tech Gyrls, an after school program for girls, by girl is coming to Northeast! Explore weekly STEM activities, do experiments, and think like a scientist. Tech Gyrls will be Thursdays after school from February 22nd to April 19th. Space is limited to the first 20 students that sign up. If interested, please see Ms. Albus in student services for a permission slip.
