Week of June 3, 2018: Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our final “Northeast Sunday Shout Out” for this school year. It is hard to believe that we are finishing this school year, as it seems like only yesterday we had our Open House. We start our last week of school with our annual 8th grade “Moving Up Ceremony” tomorrow evening. Eighth grade students are expected to report to school at 6:30 p.m. to organize for the ceremony as we do start promptly at 7:00 p.m. We wish all of our 8th grade students the best as they move on from their middle school years into the high school, and we know so many of them will make us all Northeast P.R.O.U.D. The 8th graders then turn around on Tuesday and go on their 8th grade field day to the Bethlehem Township Park. If that’s not enough, they come back on Wednesday and head to Washington D.C. for their end of year field trip. What a great way to end the year celebrating our 8th grade and their final hours here at Northeast.

Our other two grades have their annual field days scheduled for this week as well. On Wednesday our sixth grade field day is scheduled here at school, and then Thursday we have our 7th grade field day. The only problem with having our field days scheduled this last week of school is that we need the weather to cooperate, so please hope for sunny skies throughout the week. Finally on our last school day of the year on Friday we gather together one last time to showcase the talents of many of our students. It usually ends with many hugs and tears. Please remember that all students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

We will miss our children during the summer months but look forward to welcoming back next year’s 7th and 8th graders. Look for your opening of school letter containing next year’s homeroom sometime during the 1st week in August. School opens next year on Monday, August 27th. Have a wonderful summer, and remember to READ!!!!
