Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. We start our Northeast “Sunday Shout Out” with the hope that everyone is enjoying this three-day weekend thus far and all our students are looking forward to returning to school Tuesday morning. Our first week of school went forth without a hitch. We are always a bit nervous starting school, as we want all of our children to be assigned correctly to their teams and to their classes. With that being stated, please know we do our best to place children into classes where students are challenged and also where children have the best opportunity to be successful. If you have questions regarding your child’s placement, please reach out to your child’s guidance counselor.

This week we will be running a “normal” school bell schedule as we help our children adjust to the expectations we have for all of our classes. Our enrollment this year is around 750 students, however we are still booked through next week with children enrolling new to our school. Having this many children makes for some challenges especially regarding arrival and dismissal. If you do transport your child to school or pick your child up after school please careful and patient. We want to do everything possible to keep our children safe, and sometimes it is our impatience that can threaten our children’s safety.

Next week we begin enrolling our children into after school activities and clubs. Most will begin the last week of September. Parents will be exposed to more regarding our “extra-curricular” activities this week at our Open House on Thursday, September 6th. It starts with a large introduction in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Please come out and be introduced to your child’s teachers and hear from them all the great things your child will be doing this year.

This week we get into full swing with all of our fall sports. Our field hockey team plays on Wednesday away against Whitehall. Our Volleyball team also starts play on Tuesday at Saucon Valley and Wednesday playing away at Northampton. Volleyball then plays its first home game against Nazareth on Friday. Cross Country starts out its season on Thursday with a meet at Freedom and finally our football team starts its official season at home on Saturday against Northampton. We wish all of our fall athletes the best as they begin the regular season.

As always should you ever need assistance please call our school office at 610-868-8581, and we will do everything we can to assist you. Have a great remainder to your weekend!
