Home / Daily Announcements / Sunday Shout-Out for the Week of September 23, 2018

Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for the week of September 23rd. First, a thank you to all that were able to support our school by “eating out” last week at Dairy Queen. It was a great success because of you. Speaking of eating, this week we are starting a new morning initiative to encourage our children to take advantage of our breakfast program. We will now have breakfast extended until 8:15 a.m. To help celebrate this initiative we will build our own Lickity Splits and take that all American favorite banana split and make it a breakfast special. Hope to see more children partaking in the most important meal of the day here at school.
Other happenings this week have us holding our first half-day for teacher training known as an Act 80 day this Wednesday. Students will be released from school at 11:35 a.m. and lunch will not be served. Also Wednesday we have the privilege again of having Moravian College students join us for a day of service.  We thank Moravian for this partnership and their support of our school. On Thursday we have our Picture Day for all of our students and staff, which is always nice when we see our children dressed in their best for this day. Finally on Friday we celebrate our P.R.O.U.D. initiative by hosting our Fall P.R.O.U.D. A-thon.  This fundraiser helps to support our P.R.O.U.D. Society and all the students that work hard in and outside the classroom showing that Northeast Pride. We thank you in advance for any and all donations you can provide us for this event.
We end with our fall sports schedule for the week. Our field hockey team plays on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesday they are home against Easton. On Thursday and Friday they are away at Nazareth and Whitehall respectively. Our Volleyball team plays twice this week. They are home against Nitschmann on Tuesday and away against Lower Macungie on Thursday. Cross Country is also away at Lower Macungie on Thursday. Our Football team plays on Saturday here at home against Emmaus. The game starts at 9:00 a.m. We hope to see as many fans as possible out supporting our athletes.
Have a great remainder to your weekend!
