Home / Daily Announcements / Sunday Shout-Out for the Week of January 20, 2019

Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for our week of January 20th. First I remind everyone that we are off from school tomorrow, the 21st, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. In observance of this day, may we be reminded of the bigotry and racism still running rampant in our great nation, and may we think of how we can all come together in unity to fight discrimination and hatred. We are trying to do our part here at Northeast as we observe our “Week of Peace”. Tomorrow, Monday, Northeast’s Rally 4 Peace will be presenting their annual show at The Ice House at 5 p.m. with doors opening at 4:45 p.m. This show is free and the Northeast family and friends are invited. All students must bring an adult to attend this event. In addition each day this week we will look to make a statement against hatred and bigotry as well as against the violence that affects our lives each and every day. Hopefully our children will see a day when our world lives in peace and harmony with one another, because thus far as a society we have not done what we have had to in order to achieve that Dream!

On to other school news: This Wednesday Liberty High School will be hosting a Parent Night for its incoming class of Freshman next year.  We hope many of our 8th grade parents will be able to make it over to Liberty for this very important meeting.  The orientation begins at 7:00 p.m. We hope you are able to make it.

On Friday some of our 7th graders have a field trip to Revolutions to celebrate the end of a very successful 1st semester.  Our 2nd semester and 3rd quarter officially start on Friday.

In athletics this week both our boys and girls basketball each have two games.  On Wednesday our teams play Springhouse. Our boys are at home and our girls are away. On Thursday our boys are home against Easton while our girls go on the road to face the Rovers.  We wish our athletes the best in these and all the games they play. Have a great remainder to your weekend and a nice day in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday.
