Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our Northeast “Shout Out” for this LAST Full week of April. This past week has been a grueling week but we are finished the first half of our state testing. Fortunately the Math PSSA tests last only two days versus the three days of the Reading/ELA that we just finished. We have this week off before we have to tackle those Math tests. We thank all of our students and our families for taking these tests seriously and for doing their best.

As for this week we have many activities packed into the week as we adjusted our schedule due to the snow days. We start our week off early tomorrow with our 6th grade Honor Roll Breakfast in our cafeteria starting 7:30 a.m. This is followed on Tuesday with our 7th and 8th grade celebrations. Please remember that our 8th grade celebration is scheduled after our 7th grade in order to avoid confusion. Also Tuesday and Wednesday we will be hosting the district’s Parent Technology Academy Training.  These training sessions are in preparation for the district initiative going one to one with Chromebooks that is slated for next year in grades eight and nine across the district. Tuesday’s training will be in our Library starting at 10 a.m. and Wednesday’s training is in the evening at 6:00 p.m. We hope all parents are able to attend one of the two workshops.

For students this week we celebrate our P.R.O.U.D. society students with a little time off from school for a trip to the bowling alley. Our 7th and 8th grade P.R.O.U.D. students will be out bowling Tuesday afternoon and our 6th grade P.R.O.U.D. students will head over to Town and Country on Friday. This week we begin hosting our incoming 6th grade students for next year. Our William Penn incoming class will be with us on Wednesday and the Lincoln 5th grade class will visit on Thursday. Needless to say we have quite the busy week, so thank goodness we have this week off from testing!

Finally in sports this week both our soccer team and softball team are scheduled to play twice. Both teams play Wednesday away with soccer playing at Whitehall and softball playing at Springhouse. Then on Friday both teams are at home with soccer taking on Harrison Morton and softball playing Whitehall. To make Friday even busier our Northeast Dance Team will end the day at Nitschmann’s Stomp Show. We hope everyone enjoys the remainder of this holiday weekend, and we look forward to seeing the children back at school tomorrow.
