Good afternoon Northeast Family and Friends. Here is our “Northeast Sunday Shout Out” for the week of May 19th. As we said last week, May is really the busiest month of our school year and again this week is no exception. We start our week off with some of our 7th grade students going off to the courthouse for the County Law Day. Monday in the evening we hold our annual Sports Awards ceremony. The night starts with a dinner reception for the parents of our 8th grade athletes starting at 5:30 p.m. and ends with the awards ceremony for all athletes in the auditorium starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday there is NO SCHOOL due to elections. Wednesday begins three days of camping for our 7th grade World Explorers Team as the children travel to the Poconos and Camp Trexler for what has always been a great experience. Also on Wednesday and then again on Thursday our eighth grade seminar students teach the District’s 4th grade students down along the Monocacy all about the historic ways of the Moravians.

To end our week before the Memorial Day Holiday we are P.R.O.U.D. to send our highest earning Proud Society students off to Dorney Park for a celebration of their hard work throughout the school year. What a great way to enter into the weekend.

Lastly we end our Shout Out with a plea for help from our wonderful NEPTO folks. They will be hosting the 8th Grade Farewell Dance on Friday, May 31st. They are in desperate need for parent volunteers to come and help decorate. If you are a 6th or 7th grade parent please consider helping out with decorating. We know our 8th grade parents will be busy after school attending to their children getting ready for the event. Decorating begins at 1:30 p.m. If you are able to help, please call the school. Thank you and have a great remainder to your Sunday.
