STUDENT LEADERSHIP FOOD DRIVE: Student Leadership Thanksgiving food drive is in full swing! Each homeroom has a box and a list of food items we are collecting. Our goal is to get 30 complete Thanksgiving meals to deliver right back to our families here at  Northeast! Please bring in your  donations, and see a Student LeadershipRep or Mrs. Derrington in  room A312 with questions. 

WINTER COATSBRRRRRRRRR – Students- Need of  a new winter coat? Teachers, know a  student that might be chilly? Stop by A312 and see Mrs. Derrington!

ACTIVITIES

  • AFTER SCHOOL VOCAL GROUPS: Attention Mrs. Parker’s musicians! The rehearsal schedule for the upcoming week is as follows: Monday, November 8, 2021 – Boys Group until 4 PM; Tuesday, November 9, 2021 – No rehearsal due to a team meeting;Wednesday, November 10, 2021 – Girls Group until 4:00/NE Girls Barbershop until 4:30; Friday, November 12, 2021 – NE Singers until 4 PM. Please check your schedule accordingly.
  • CHESS CLUB: Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 10th in A103. Please see Mr. Wynn for a permission slip if you would like to join our club.
  • DANCE TEAM: Practice is on Wednesday this week until 4:30pm. See you then!  Make sure you practice on your own!
  • DISC GOLF/ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB: Our next meeting is Monday, November 15th after school. We are always accepting new members. Please see Mr. Wynn in A103 for permission slips! See you then!
  • HOMEWORK CLUB: If you are in 8th grade and need help with your assignments, consider coming to homework club on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Papagni’s room in B305. If you would like a quiet place to work, assistance with confusing assignments, study for a test, and even get a snack, please come to homework club on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room B305.
  • JOURNALISM CLUB: Our next meeting will be on November 11th, Thursday. Please log into the Journalism Schoology Group page and complete the Roles Survey as soon as possible. Again our next meeting will be in two weeks, November 11th and you have a Roles Survey in updates in the journalism Schoology group page.
  • READING OLYMPICS: Do you have a love for reading and competition? If so, join Northeast’s Reading Olympic team! Together we will read popular books and prepare to compete in a Jeopardy-style competition. Reading Olympics will begin Monday, November 15th. We will meet in A300, Mrs. Roehrenbeck’s reading room on the 8th-grade floor during hornet block every day 5. Please see Mr. Wynn in A103 for a permission slip.
  • STEP TEAM: Practice is on Tuesday this week until 4:30pm. See you then! Make sure you practice on your own!
  • WORLD PERCUSSION: Practice is again on Thursday after school. You need to tell  Mr. Huie if you can’t be there. Friday we will have practice during Hornet Block.
  • ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE CLUB: Thank you students that handed in Zombie Club Forms. The club is now full. The Final list of those that made it into the club will be posted on the doors at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade entrances on Friday. Thank you and have a Zombie Fun Day!

ATHLETICS

  • BOYS BASKETBALL: Attention 7th and 8th Grade Boys. Any boy interested in trying out for the Boys Basketball team should come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, 11/10 in the Auditorium starting at 8:30am. See Coach Carlstrom in D105 if you have any  questions.
  • GIRLS BASKETBALL: Attention 7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball. Our next open gyms will be held November 10th after school – the November 9th open gym is cancelled.. Please see Coach Rodriguez or Coach Schaffrick with any questions
